If the rumour about Germini is right maybe Butt is on the move. Ole is pass it now, we need youth and speed.
Madrids front line is awesome, we need a world class striker to link up with RVN.

About what?, Butt or Solskjaer?. I still think Solskjaer can offer us something but am unsure whether ferguson will keep him if he re-builds.

With nicky butt, im not a huge fan and ive never really been. He's a good player, useful for sitting infront of the defence but going forward hes flimsey and i dont think his passing is up to scratch either.

What we need right now is a 3rd/4th choice centre forward for backup. Think of the likes of Cisse in the season after next, it is not required right now. Scholes is coming on in the role. People slated him last year saying he couldn't do it, but he's adapting himself, and given time he will become perfect in that position.

Both. We´ve been in a rebuilding process for 3 years now. We´ve been replacing older players like Berg, Sheringham, Yorke, Cole, Stam and Irwin with younger players like Rio, Silvestre, RVN, Forlan, Veron, O´Shea, Brown etc.

You don´t rebuild over night.

Yes, i believe Butt had 2 or 3 very good games. But this is the same world cup in which Henry was shite, Trezeguet didnt score a single goal and Klose got 15 odd goals. You cant really go off the world cup, imo.
When butt's at his best hes brilliant, showed v.s argentina, but i really dont think hes constantly at his best enough, like i said, a good player to sit infront of the defemce, but going forward he looks like a kid getting into the shallow end of a pool for the first time, and his passing isnt always brilliant. Just my opinion, i may be wrong..

Butt and Ole for 15m and not a penny less. Saying that, even then it would be difficult to let such great lads go. In fact, make that 20m. ;)
 
Not a chance. Celtic don't have the money to spend - particularly on players who haven't got many years left.

Any significant outlay will be on younger players where they can recoup their investment by selling them on after a few years.

Youth are not hindered by big names i.e Rooney look at him against Turkey the other day.
Feel he is the sort of player we are looking for.

As for swapping Ole and Rooney - it couldn't happen. You reckon Everton would swap a 17 year old for a 30 year old!

But if it was an option, then yes, obviously.

As for feeling like a plonker - just try and look at the broader picture before you speak, ie put mouth in gear before engaging brain (or is it the other way round?). When OGS has a good run as a strike partner, and fails miserably, then it might be time to judge. He's actually done quite well this season considering.

Celtic DEFINITELY don't have that kind of money to spend and lets face it £12M for Butt and Ole is a joke......OLE is worth £10M minimum and Butt at least £5M. Don't believe this one. Don't know where it's come from but it ain't doing the rounds up here!!!!!
 
Agreed. 12m for Ole and Butt? That'd be a bargain - United aren't complete dopes!
 
It scares me that so few people appreciate the value and talent of Nicky Butt. Fair enough he's not one of the flair players but always does a top notch job for us and never complains about not being an automatic choice.

He's top drawer and I wouldnt like to see him go for £20m never mind £5m !!!
