Rugby Union 23/24 Discussion

I had a feeling that after blew it and loosing in such a silly way in the first match versus the Wallabies we would be better this one, but not this good. Feels even worse loosing the first one in such manner, we could have been in a way better position by now.

I like D Mac and wanted him to make it to first choice ten, but he never convinces. Always feel he doesn't quite fit the mantle yet.

I might be totally wrong, but that's just the feeling I get. I'd like him to do well but I'm not surprised when he doesn't.

I see D-Mac as a fullback playing flyhalf. Harry Plummer was flyhalf for the Super Rugby winning Auckland Blues but Razor doesn't seem to fancy him. Razor would love to select Mo'unga but New Zealand's selection policy forbids him from picking him.

I'm embarrassed by it. Conceding 64 points in a game and conceding 50 points in a half is disgraceful. After last week's gritty win, this is not what the Wallabies needed.
It was a bit of a collapse….I do think the Argies got very hot in the second and when that big pack gets their tails up they’re a bloody hard unit. But the resistance was non-existent.

I think they need a few tough guys, it’s all a bit soft and fluffy

The first half I think the Wallabies were quite focus, solid and good, while Los Pumas were quite wasteful, it's true it should have been a tighter affair, yet I thought that could have gotten ugly in the second half if Pumas went out there timid or doubting.

The Second half was a combination of the Wallabies being a bit like Los Pumas in the first half and Los Pumas having one of those days that almost every fecking thing goes right, the climate, the support from the crowd, mostly the confidence and every play happening because of own merit and a combination of every mistake (even the tiniest) from the Wallabies being capitalized. Almost every off load was great, every tackle, etc etc that shyte does not happen many times for any team, less on this level.
Dealing with such momentum for a morale beaten Wallabies due to the constant harsh press and angry fans, was too much on the mental side.

I give kudos for Contemponi for clearly let the guys go for it 120%, for moments it was ridiculosuly risky the ammount of plays tried and luckly succeeding, was almost like a very offensive Seven approach with everything clicking, like I've said before, this kind of shyte when everything is so fluid does not happen normally, therefore that second half and the points obtained.

Absolutely and I think they need to play that way. Full throttle, commit to it fully. They might have a few ropey losses when things don’t click, by they’ve turned over the ABs in New Zealand and clocked a record hammering of Aus. It’s well worth it

Hogg has been arrested for a third time for stalking his (ex?) wife. Gone fully off the rails. Twat.

Rugby is back this weekend. The international break is over and United are coming off back to back wins.

All feels right with the world again.

Scrappy enough. Edinburgh made a real battle of it. Best thing about it was Sam Prendergast, playing like a Rolls Royce. Times his passes so well.

Himself and Tector look like they’ve both added some heft. I was impressed with both.

Munster - Connacht today. Connacht started the season brightly last year but very quickly faded badly.
They'll have to be much better this year.

My wife got me a voucher for tickets, so I'm going to the next three of the next four home matches: Sharks, Leinster, Bulls.

Northampton struggled to adjust to the removal of the Dupont law against Bath last night.

In other news, the All Blacks have retained the Bledisloe Cup again, beating the Wallabies 31-28 in Sydney after beaing 21-0 up early.

After Argentina beat South Africa 29-28, Ireland are now ranked number 1 in the world.

Alright you fecks, never mind international rugby (I’ve been away all weekend), but you’d better be watching Stade Francais and Toulon on a Sunday night or you’re officially a casual

I don't see it against the Boks, more needing some bonus or shyte, but I hope that Kremer gets fit in time (doubt it) and at least give a proper match.
Would be perfect to win this Championship, seeing that it might end this format and we are left out, but the chances are thinner than a fishing line in this finishing line.

PD: nervewrecking for me, but what a match for any neutral the one in Santiago.
PD2: The Aussies were great when they recoreverd against the ABs too, quite an entertaining Championship this one.

Felipe with too many chances?: Players OUT: Matera (WTF), Molina, Cinti, Mallia (WTF2) and Kremer saldy injured (hugely important). This can end quite fecking ugly.

PD: if it's a matter of improvisation I would like to see Isgro there to se if he can surprise with his wheels

And it was indeed fecking HORRIBLY, more than ugly haha

Didn’t see as much of Ione as you’d have liked but I’d say you enjoyed that all the same! What a comeback. Great entertainment. Looked like you even got a break with the weather? Unusual lack of sideways rain tonight.
Great match. Conditions were absolutely perfect.

We were great til the 20min mark and then it all went wrong.

Last season, we'd have lost that. But instead of melting, it was a superb comeback. Really enjoyed that.

New stand is going to be fantastic too. It's only half built and it already looks like a massive upgrade.

Minor negative point for Connacht tonight was that Hansen looked rusty. Showed a few sparks but also was dodgy on defensive positioning and not quite himself overall.

Ah you’d expect him to be rusty as anything. Played almost no rugby in how long? Must be close to a year? Will need a few games to get up to speed but even on a quiet night like tonight you could see how much creativity he brings to your back line. I love watching him play. Such a maverick.

Definitely yes, he'll hopefully be patient with himself and play himself back into form.

@Dan_F where’s the money at today?

Bath are -2 evens, I’m in the mood to ruin my bank balance. What’s your thoughts?

Don’t ask me, I’m biased

Leicester‘s 15 looks strong with loads of international experience past and present. Bath’s probably less experienced without Du Tiot and Underhill but loads of quality players for this level.

Bath have added more depth in the forwards, so I expect them to be really strong off the bench finishing games this season. Having someone like Ted Hill to come on is the stuff of nightmares for the opposition.

I didn’t watch any rugby apart from Bath v Northampton last week as I’ve been on holiday, but Bath were far better prepared for the rule changes in the kicking. Not sure if that helps at all.

Leicester fecking hate bath and I expect welford road to be bouncing. Might take a Leicester win - which is a bonus for you because I always gamble wrong with rugby

Barbeary is absolutely made of brick. I’d love to know his muscle density

Pretty lucky to escape a red based on some that we’ve seen over the last few years.

That was one of the worst halves of rugby I’ve watched for a while. The only positive is I don’t think there’s any way Bath can be so bad in the second half and it’s only 5 points at the moment.

Not sure if I’ve gone crazy. TNT trying their best to hype it up.
