Maxing and relaxing poolside.
I'm in no way a Rugby fan. In fact, i hate the sport.

But i watched the game yesterday and for the first time i saw the BIG difference between rugby and football players.

On numerous occasions the players were tackled ridiculously hard. They were consistently knocked to the ground with some horrendous tackles.

One bloke took a knee to the face. What did he do? He got up and shook it off like a real sportsman should.

I then watched the United and Real-Barca games. The players go down like they've literally been shot. Some of the play acting is embarrassing. No wonder football players get called ponces all the time.

It's one thing i admire about about Rugby players. There a hell of a lot more honest than the majority of football players.

Strange thing to say considering that it is the other code of football closest to Association, and that both have exactly the same historical roots.

Strange? I just don't like rugby.

Running forward to throw the ball backwards.:wenger:

it`s the old saying -

football is a gentleman`s game played by thugs, rugby is a thug`s game played by gentlemen

not always 100% true but not far off it.

Rugby is a contact sport. football is not. that explains the difference when a player is taken down.

The conduct of the sport I have a lot of respect for. it's buzzing around here at the moment as Hull KR who where favorites for the drop this season are beating the likes of Leeds and Wigan whilst across town Hull FC are sitting near the bottom. the pubs have a really good atmosphere even with mixed fans something you don't really see in football.

Rugby players are hard as feck, it's true

It annoys me though, when people always bang on about their discipline, compared to footballers. They give away constant penalties, and have proper punch-ups fairly often, of a sort you virtually never see in football.

Playing Rugby is a totally different mentallity.

If someone hurts you, and I mean really hurts you, as in a trip to the hospital being required, you don't let them know that.
You get up, and get on with it, as if it didn't even happen. Anything else and you're just showing yourself as weak, which means there'll be more comming your way.

The fights are real fights too, but not worth the consequences that follow, which is enough to keep people in line for the most part.

Also, after the game, there's none of the girly afters. Everyone accepts the result, and what went on during the game is left at that.

You don't have to be hard as feck, as such, there's just no place for prancing fairies

Agreed, its why I have a lot more respect for Rugby players than I would do Football players.

Its why I don't give a shit about England Football Team, but have all the pride in the World for our Rugby side.

Its the same for Rugby fans too
