Ironically, we seem to be getting better results in matches under Amorim where we're normally used to being trashed.
Every game has been winnable under Amorim. We got 3 draws, twice against Arsenal and once against Liverpool. We have beaten City earlier. So why the negativity?

Or vindication that Amorim is a great coach and has managed to get this hopeless lot playing above their level through persistence in his system, tactics and squad management. Big egg on the faces of the bozos who blamed him for every bad thing in the past 3 months like our weak players weren't missing 5 yard passes (which they still did numerous times today) or throwing the ball into their own net. Really just a matter of how you want to spin it.

Finally a solid win in the league, deserved and while playing good football. Leicester are terrible, but we did our job.

What's at stake?
I don't know if this was discussed already, but did we change the formation when we are playing from the back? The CCB is moving more into the midfield, earlier in the season the 3 CBs were more in the line.
Leicester are kinda synonymous with false dawn for us this season.
But still, two good performances on the bounce, signs to be hopeful about. If we manage to back that up the next game, the mood might change a bit

It comes at a good time, as players are tired and injuries mounting up. Amorim even said he was pleased the break was coming up in his post match interview.

We look more direct and play with better urgency, even though the Fulham game was pretty drab I felt it was more improved relative to the dross early in his reign.
I think the younger players have really shown up, which is great to see. He's using casemiro better too.

I know we are hopeful but lets be realistic, Amorim has managed 18 league games, he has 22 points from 18 games.
Will he win even 2 games on the bounce? Next is Forest away. Can we win that? Just so we can win 2 games consecutively and add much needed points to our tally?
Lets not have blind faith, which is what put us in this position in the first place by believing ETH was second coming of Christ.
I don't see anyone expressing anything close to blind faith after the win. If anything it is cautious optimism, celebrating what seems to be progress, both using the eye-test and metrics. I agree, let's not get carried away, but let us enjoy some respite from the army of doom and gloom (not referring to you).
Seen this in the last few games or so and yeah it wasn't there earlier. We should be doing it a lot more and overloading with the extra player.

Extra training for most players though to learn the drills without the disruption of matches for a fortnight
The army of doom and gloom is MANCHESTER UNITED results. I don't play for United, you dont play for United. So if there is negative feedback from the team, its because of the results from Amorim and the team.
Also, because we won, it is because of Amorim brilliance or because of the squad? Because the narrative in here has been we have a relegation level squad
when we lose games.In the next 3 games, wait you will see people saying we have a relegation squad after losing. Give it time you will see it.
I think the international break is needed. Our players look like they have run out of steam, a few of them have played every game for the past few weeks.
It will be a good rest for them, getting players back from injury as well, we have had issues in this department.
Hopefully 2 weeks of rest and training for Mainoo, Mount, Yoro, Maguire, Casemiro.
Hopefully we get some players back as we have some tough fixtures coming up.
We were ok last night in fairness, pretty run of the mill comfortable victory against a team in zero form who haven't scored for weeks very much destined to be relegated. But still got the job done, you can only beat what's put in front of you.

Forget what has happened In the last few months and see how we finish this season, he has had time to get his feet under the table and adjust and the players have had time to learn his system and philosophy. Hopefully the international break gives us time to get a few injured players back and we can finish the season strongly and have some optimism for next season.

Like seeing the improvement in recent games, and also him bedding in young players which I think should become a common theme for the rest of season with very little at stake in the league.

Long way from what we want to see our team playing but it seems they are understanding Amorims system a lot more… this is the reward for sticking to what he knows and not changing like everyone wanted.

I agree, results drive sentiment as does how we got the result. My point is that I don't see anyone elevating yesterday to be due to Amorim's brilliance, that he is god's gift to football, that the squad will win champions league next season etc etc... I might be wrong, but I don't see any of these extreme posts so far. Just cautious optimism that we are seeing progress, which I think is fair enough to state. Which is refreshing from the doom and gloom rant posts, which are emotionally draining to read.
Slightly better performances, however, coincides with playing some poorer teams Arsenal aside. So hard to judge if its an actual improvement or just the result of an easier run.
The rewards for patience are slowly starting to appear. To be honest the signs were always there even when we were playing badly.
Sociedad beat us a few months ago and we probably draw to Leicester
I think it’s easy to say we had some easy teams but in reality we were the much better team against Arsenal we could have and should have won. Hojilund has been devoid of confidence and Gernacho’s shooting boots deserted him, I’m hoping that yesterday helped the confidence of both players. As for Sociadad we dominated them for the majority of the first leg and were dominant for the whole of the second leg. There’s no reason we can’t fight toe to toe with Man City, Forrest, Lyon and Newcastle. We might not win them all but I’d like to think we’ll show fight and give them all a good game.
The usual responses when we win... "But we should win these games", clearly not been watching this season where we have struggled to beat most teams.
We have had 3 away wins all season, so nothing is a easy run for us.
The fact that we are creating more chances in the last 3 games, shows there is more than slight improvement.
Whilst it is only few games, we need to win like 5/6 in a row before any excitement.

Lot more cohesion in last few games. System is growing on us. Really excited to see how the team will grow further. As mentioned lots of times already. Give Ruben time. I think he is the one.

There have been good performances, when compared to the run of poor performances, recently. That also coincides with a poor Leicester who are on an even worse run and a Sociedad who are struggling to score. A good performance vs Arsenal, however, the trend under Amorim at United has been good performances when we can sit back and counter, as is also a trend of better performances in the Europa league against poorer opposition. So yeah, decent performances,, but nothing too out of the norm for the general performance from the team under Amorim. Will be interesting to see how the team performs in the next set of fixtures. The confidence should be better, Rasmus and Garnacho have their goals. Lets see if this is an actual change or more of the same.
