Neville may as well just say he wants Amorim sacked at this point. Calling his tactics a disgrace.
He's right, we're staring at 14 points from 14 games, while he plays various players out of position in a formation that suits nobody but won't change. It's hard to think of a worse way United could be set up tbh.Neville may as well just say he wants Amorim sacked at this point. Calling his tactics a disgrace.
There aren't many CMs on the planet that would make a 343 work in the PL. It's just a running contest these days. Almost impossible with just a 2.We don’t have the squad at all to play a 2 man midfield. This 343 isn’t working whatsoever.
It wasn’t an excuse put forward by me. I’ve been saying since the start this was a bad appointment. They should have gone for Iraola, but they wanted a “proven winner”. In a tin pot league (maybe slightly harsh) but this was eerily similar to ten Hag (winner in another tin pot league; not so harsh). Iraola has proven he is adaptable in this league and can get the best out of the players at his disposal, Amorim has proven the opposite.Ok
But before we signed him the excuse was "we need proper WBs". Now we have one and nothing has changed. Now its "we need different CMs". Which is probably the case, I'm not disputing you.
But this is kind of proving a problem with Amorims one way of playing.
The squad Ten Hag left is an absolute joke.
I wasn't directing it at you, sorry. It wasn’t an excuse put forward by me. I’ve been saying since the start this was a bad appointment. He isn't wrong and his decisions are showing a manager out of his depthNeville may as well just say he wants Amorim sacked at this point. Calling his tactics a disgrace.
You'd need prime Kanté probably with Ugarte. But also you'd need the wing-backs to be on the same wavelength and maybe Bruno from the CAMs dropping in to make it a three when they're overrun. None of this stuff is happening. There aren't many CMs on the planet that would make a 343 work in the PL. It's just a running contest these days. Almost impossible with just a 2.
Why are we always outnumbered in the middle of the park? It’s suicidal.
Sorry, I know that. But I agree with you, his inflexibility with the system is a huge issue. I think he needs to go. Anyone can see them that Casemiro and Fernandes would get overrun today. That meant either play youngster who have legs but are untested at this level or change the system. He’s being alarmingly obdurate. It’s almost like he has already realised what a shit show he has gotten involved with and wants out.I wasn't directing it at you, sorry.
Yeah, this bit is just fecking bizarreI think he’s completely clueless if I’m honest. We are constantly overrun in midfield, it’s the exact same issue as under Ten Hag.
Bruno can’t play CM but every week he’s in that role. We lose all attacking threat we had which came through him.
Casemiro should never play for us again. Would rather see a youngster that can run for 90 minutes.
We now have Dorgu and Dalot on the correct wings which makes you wonder why he even tried them on opposite wings against Leicester.
The problem for me now, and it is really showing on the pitch, he seems to be so inflexible that when it comes to the team line up its like throwing darts at a dartboard.Sorry, I know that. Would a prime Roberto Carlos and Cafu instantly change our play? You'd need prime Kanté probably with Ugarte. But also you'd need the wing-backs to be on the same wavelength and maybe Bruno from the CAMs dropping in to make it a three when they're overrun. None of this stuff is happening.
He’s not even started. He's done here
Thats why Liverpool dodged this particular bullet. The incompetence at our once great club shows no signs of abating.Would a prime Roberto Carlos and Cafu instantly change our play?
I can't see it tbh. I can't understand how a manager can just have one system.
Would Salah be playing a wing back if Amorim was the Liverpool manager?
Yep, he has done next to nothing to earn trust for the future backingI'm fine with him being given until the end of the year, to see if the summer window can change things. But frankly I wouldn't give a feck if he left tonight. There's nothing to defend, there's no hope to cling on to. We're dreadful. Every single game.
He said the structure of the team is awful and criticised the midfield several times, with Bruno ending up in the right midfield, pointing out gaps again and again. What's he saying?
Did they even know that Amorim plays 3421? I am not sure. Or maybe they thought we had the players it.Thats why Liverpool dodged this particular bullet. The incompetence at our once great club shows no signs of abating.
You kinda expect a professional coach to know that but hey he came midseason so it's all good, rightReminded me of ETH making the players run however many miles it was after the Brentford loss.
"Punishment by training" plays well with the fans but tends to be counterproductive to player conditioning.
But its how he has them set up. Cas is completely isolatedI’m not defending Amorim here but who are people wanting to see in midfield? He pretty much had to start Zirkzee and Hojlund today.
