Ruben Amorim - Manchester United Head Coach

Was there an injury I missed or did he just hook somebody after 25 mins?
Injury. And unfortunately Pote is basically the main source of dribbling and creative thinking.
Debast is being a major flop. What was he thinking? The guy was the most expensive defender ever for Sporting.

Hamstring - you have to question his training methods

Ah, fair enough then.

Haven't seen much of Debast, but I think I vaguely remember him looking like a bit of a clown for Belgium in the Euros.

As a Benfica fan, what were your thoughts when Amorim became manager of your city rivals?
At the time we didn't really care because he was an ínterim at Braga. But seeing what he did at a club who just lost several players and was having huge financial issues made me see he is made for another level.

They got rid of him three games before this shameful performance. Standards.

Chockingly enough United is nr. 12(How was Ten Hag allowed to do this?)
Amoring will take United to top 6 and it will be a succes.

What's the expectation for next Season United fans? How would a succesfuld season look like next year? Top 4?

I think its way too soon to be talking about what's going to happen or what we expect to happen next season, the situation he is walking in to is unprecedented as no other Man Utd manager post Sir Alex has walked in to the club with a proper footballing structure in place so we need to wait to see what happens this season before talking about next season.

He’s clearly managing expectations by coaching them to a massive loss after the impressive win against City.

I don’t think we’d complain if we lost some games under Amorim aslong as the style is consistent and you can see what we’re trying to do.

It's a very peculiar situation for Amorim to walk into - apart from the challenges with the team, the table is absolutely insane right now.

Last season following GW11, there were two teams who were within 4 points of fourth place. Now there are 10 teams who are within 4 points of THIRD place. City in 2nd place have a bigger gap up to Liverpool in 1st, than we in 13th have to Chelsea, who's 3rd. Which means that for reasons that have absolutely nothing to do with us, this season is far from the write-off it should have been, given our record.

Of course, the bad news is that we're the last of those 10 teams, and even if we start getting consistently good results, some other teams will too. Still, there's opportunities here you don't normally get when you're 13th after 11 rounds.

Good second half. Basing my entire opinion of the Portuguese league on this game, the standard is….not great

Beating City comfortably and producing a late comeback win, it's like we're back in the 90s
