They are not. Let's not overrate them. They are just as inconsistent as us. Duran carried Villa in a couple of games with his long range screamers coming off the bench and they should have lost against Ipswich as well. Newcastle were the same in a couple of their wins earlier in the season.
I still maintain that Arsenal, City and Liverpool are the only teams better than us. And we've all seen how Arsenal and City have started to struggle. Us, Chelsea, Villa, Newcastle, Tottenham are no better than each other .
We're in last 8 of Carabao Cup, favorites to win Europa and 4 points behind teams in top 4. It's not ideal to take over without preseason but he's in a good position to make it a decent season.
At Sporting he made the team in the pre-season during training camp, curious to see how long it takes to see his hand because I have seen the shedule of united and it are a lot of games in a short period. If you take into account that gameday and day after the game not much of training then you don't have a lot of training sessions.

I think the wingback system miught actually work in our favour looking at how dire Dalot has been since the beginning of the season and our attackers are hit an miss. He could adopt RCB in the future.
Mazraoui think can work from the RWB, good both going back and forward. Garnacho as a LWB, more attacking, would need to adopt but I think he could do that. So far showed too bad decision making in the final third, so would be better if we deploy Amad and Bruno there with Mount being backup along with Rashford and Antony, who both should be slowly replaced as they are not good enough.

Do we have a list of the players not on international duty that will be staying to train with Amorim? Kinda nice that he'll get a decent look at the fridge and youth players first. Give them a chance to impress while the main stars are away.

I would imagine the players not on international duty will be given a couple of days off. He might be here tomorrow, but it could be later in the week before those players are. Is Evans still playing international football or has he retired? Rashford will be there, Antony, Casemiro, Mount, lads coming back from injury?
He's got a run of three easier games, then five tough ones. If he could have a honeymoon spell lasting through all 8 that'd be grand.

I swear this is only ever an issue for us. Hopefully it’s resolved for the start of next week, the quicker he gets on the training pitch the better.

Thanks to RvNs help, Amorim comes with a 4pt gap to cut for top 4. A good challenge that's more than doable.

After this weekend results United are only 4 points off 3rd and 4th place in the table. Hopefully Ruben can hit the ground running against Ipswich.
Despite our worst ever start to a PL season, we are 4 points off 3rd. 1pt behind Spurs. Just 4 off Arsenal and Chelsea. There’s so much to play for this season. The league feels wide open this year. All of Newcastle, Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea and Villa are within touching distance in terms of points.
This is a case of just doing the basics right until the end of the season. Being solid, getting a consistent run of results and we can find ourselves in the top four mix. The squad has enough about them to beat anyone outside the top six, and with the right tactical approach, enough about them to grind out some respectable results against the better sides. There’s enough quality in this squad to at the very least be a solid, hard to beat team; and in Garnacho, Bruno and Amad, two wildcards and a proven performer, who can trouble any defence.

Joining in the summer will have helped, so then we have absolutely no idea how long it takes to get a work permit. Ruben is joining mid-season, but it being an international break will give us more time. Maybe they can't apply until they finish their current job?
