Ruben Amorim - Manchester United Head Coach

He's balancing the side as best he's able with what's available.

He wants attacking wingbacks, one of which is a converted winger, but we don't have many options as Amad has been needed infield and noone else can do that role other than fullbacks.

It's not rocket science, but I guess being mad we're losing gets people not thinking with their brains n shit
Play Amad as the wing-back then. Use Garnacho and Mainoo/Bruno as the number 10s.

Moyes has managed four games at Everton and they have 3 wins. Which is as many as Amorim has right now in the league. That is shocking and there are no excuses.

Some of the comments in here are ridiculous, as is anyone expecting too much with this group of players who are deeply mediocre and not suited to this system. That being said, I'm surprised that given Mainoo was really good in one of the number 10 roles in midweek that he didn't keep him there and have Amad at wingback or at least try that at half time but in the grand scheme of things it's not a huge complaint.

Did you say the same when EtH and Ole were here? Bc my beef is people not being consistent when it comes that logic. If you did - fair enough.

I have always said it is the players since throwing Mourinho under the bus, then the same happened under Ole, with Rangnick they downed tools a week into his tenure.

ETH the same thing happened.

Is he that good at man management? He said they were the worst team in history, said Casemiro can't run, said the goalkeeping coach would be better than Rashford in the squad and Mainoo can't defend to the media pretty much. Even if some of those things are true, can't be that great for morale.
.I get you but we needed a manager who tried to get hard work back from the players to change the team dynamic.

However he is making stupid tactical mistakes. We have hardly played Garnacho, Amad, Zirkzee in a front 3 as Zirkzee as a false 9. He instead plays Zirkzee as a target man and Garnacho and amad supplying them. Then instead we see Mainoo as a False 9 instead of Garnacho as a ST.

We have never seen Garnacho starting as a LWB whilst Amad plays at RWB every game whenever we need a goal.

Just frustrating. It's like he only wants an inverted wingback on the RWB (possibly why there is hype over Quenda) but never plays a inverted LWB.

Its not 523 though, you are only writing that to try and make a point.

Its 343.

It’s absolutely not 343 at the moment.

It’s as 5 at the back as you’ll see and it’s fecking awful.

A Manchester United manager playing 5 defenders plus a DM will never be acceptable. 6 defensive players out of 11 and he wonders why we can’t score.

We better pray that all this system needs to work is better wingbacks, otherwise we’re in big big trouble.

I think I just read he has 14 points in 13 league games.

feck me, if that’s true

Struggling badly.

The question is do you even entrust him with a big summer transfer spending with this kind of football on display.

Even at home we look dire.
No, regardless of who the manager is, I hope we've finally learned not to let managers dictate our transfer strategy

Im still of the opinion we should get rid of 80% of our first team and promote a bunch more academy lads. I was only halfway serious about it before. Now I'm dead serious. I know it won't happen but at this point - what else can you do?

Yeah, it's not going well for him so far, to say the least. The squad is an incredibly poor fit for his football. This will take a very long time to fix.

this season will really set some horrible records.

Everything on the Europa League and FA cup now.

He doesn't have a clue, his team is losing every game and he keeps insisting on using 3 centrebacks for the full 90 minutes. It's not like his pool of defenders is any good, they're all pretty average.

I hope we don't waste what little money we have left building another crap team that won't work for the next managers vision.

Maguire back to his old self as predicted. Should sell while we could but with Alicia out now we are fecked.

So he's okay with trying Mainoo as a forward but Garnacho as a wingback is too much.

It's not your fault, but you don't have the level to turn the situation around either, because the squad is complete rubbish.

I understand that both Hojlund and Zirkzee are struggling for goals but only Amorim knows why he thinks Kobbie a better option up front. Is he trying to send a message or what? Player development is part of coaching but apart from Amad Amorim hasnt improved anyone. our home form has been dreadful. we lost to almost every opponent and even Southampton dominated us for large parts of the game and we were fortunate to win. At this rate, we heading for our lowest league finish and the moment we face a half decent team in the Europa League we likely out. This season already feels like a lost cause. Hes gone by this time next season if he doesnt fix this embarrassing home record.

If not him then who is at this point?
Iraola is the first person I think of

It isn’t 3-4-3, it’s 3-4-2-1 and I’m afraid it’s a horrible formation as there’s zero width with inverted wing backs who aren’t ever going to be wing backs and two 10’s and Amorim refuses to change anything in game formation wise.

This. If Amorim persists with this 5 at the back nonsense he is a dead man walking..it will never work at United..

Yeah everyone is ridiculous. Moyes has managed four games with a worse team and got 3 wins in three weeks. Amorim has 4 wins in 13 since November. And we get spanked in nearly every home game.

Yes I'm serious. Most of these guys were starters elsewhere and would have then waltzed into the majority of teams below the traditional 4. We shouldn't be worse than those guys, even with this lot.
The post you responded to said it's about the players, not the manager. You then said people aren't being consistent because they blamed ETH and Ole. People blamed Ole and ETH because they bought these players who aren't good enough. So it's not really inconsistent at all.

There’s no other way to justify it. I’m very much on his side but if we continue to routinely get beat / struggle to win PL matches for the remaining 14 PL matches, he has to win a trophy.

There are no excuses.

This doesn't mean he should be sacked before anyone gets hysterical.

But the reason we can't score is the coaching and not the players. These players have been good elsewhere and many have been good here. Coach is responsible for the performances. There is a certain power in accepting that.

Numbers wise he must be up there with the worst since Sir Alex am I right?

Way out of his element.

I have always said it is the players since throwing Mourinho under the bus, then the same happened under Ole, with Rangnick they downed tools a week into his tenure.

ETH the same thing happened.

So 3 different squads of different players decided to not try and throw different managers under the bus?

Or alternatively maybe it was a combination of the players and the managers both trying their best but it just not working out for a multitude of reasons?

Why is the default for some always, ''Managers doing everything perfectly, the problem is these players are trying to get him sacked''
