Can't wait to see the end of that dreadful 4231 at United and that he might get a tune out of those perceived to not fit in that tactic.
This aged wonderfully
Had this happened a couple of weeks prior, media would’ve based our decision on this one result. While it was fantastic to see our new man beating City so emphatically, the media hype during that international break would be sickening.
"You are the past, I am the future"
Yes!
We all know this. Let us dream just for a second.Great result for Sporting but won't get too excited. Ten Hag dominated in Netherlands and had some great results in CL as well (not only in 2019), still failed at United. Amorim will surely struggle this season, we'll see if he can be successful in the long run. History of last decade says no but hopefully he's the one to break the curse finally.
"you are bald, I am hairy"
Ten Hag's CV was winning the Dutch league with Ajax, which is basically a formality, and nearly beating Tottenham.Great result for Sporting but won't get too excited. Ole got hired because he was a club legend. On the other hand, LvG, Mourinho and Ten Hag had never failed at any club prior to joining us. Someone might reply to this nitpicking about playing styles, but all three players, bar Mourinho in big games, all had a reputation for being attacking managers before joining us. Even after managing us, 70 year old LvG played lovely football with Netherlands in very big games.I’m not sure what we do there though, every single manager has been given a smörgåsbord of his favourite players. At what point do those who have the “intelligence” say the manager is at fault?
Was it never LvG’s fault, nor Mou’s, nor Ole’s, nor ETH’s?
I’m already seeing “hope he can get the best out of Bruno” when Bruno doesn’t have anything close to the pace/carrying ability/ technical quality that many of these Sporting players have.Nah, he can't adapt to the players, that's partly why ETH moved away from what he tried at rhe start. Took him 2 games to abandon it.
It has to be his way or no way from the start, the players have to sink or swim.
So true. Whilst rolling that little ball of spit on his lip as he always does.I expect a snarky comment from Pep in his presser after getting an Amorim slapping. Something along the lines of "United have the best coach in the world now, they won't lose another game ever"
Has he denied it yet?
Lisan al Gaib! Lisan al Gaib!

Getting overly excited and optimistic is what we do bestGreat result for Sporting but won't get too excited. League they won in 2019 was Ajax's first since 2014. In 2019 CL they beat Ronaldo's Juve and also Real Madrid 4-1 at Bernabeu.Ten Hag's CV was winning the Dutch league with Ajax, which is basically a formality, and nearly beating Tottenham.
I'm sorry if I sound negative or am spoiling the fun it's just trying to avoid another disappointment. It's been frustrating 11 and a half years.Getting overly excited and optimistic is what we do best
You're absolutely right though. I thought Ten Hag was the answer and that we'd be sorted for years to come.
feck that, I’m going all-out bonkers before he loses 0-2 at home to Wolves or some other cloggers and we all start calling him a fraudPlease, let’s all remain level headed
Only if he can't turn Hojlund into his new Gyokeres. We must pay the Gyokeres release clause as soon as it becomes active.
Slightly different. Ajax are expected to win their league every year. Sporting hadn’t won a league for like 19 years. He came and ended Porto and Benficas dominance. And then started dominating himself. He built something’s ETH carried something on.Great result for Sporting but won't get too excited. Meh, I think Ten Hag just happen to be the beneficiary of a brilliant Ajax academy and structure that clicked at the right time and elevated him probably past what his true ability is. He showed far too much of a lack of understanding of our issues over a long period of time for me to give him that benefit of the doubt now.The thing is though, Ten Hag could have done a lot better here if he actually played like he did at Ajax, especially after signing half their team. Better still, make use of the fact you are at arguably the biggest club in the world in order to sign players for beyond the levels of those Ajax players.
I insist that Ten Hag dug his own grave here with some truly baffling decisions both in the transfer market and tactically.
This sounds like we should just get rid of the management structure we just spent half a year getting in place. If you hire him to coach then listen to him at all cost. If he wants to sell Rashford, Bruno, Hoijund, Casemiro, Dalot and others, just listen and get rid to them. We need passionate players who will run through a brick wall for United. We need a culture reset that everyone has the same rule to meet the highest standards. If Rashford and Garnacho only wants to attack but not defend, then drop them and find the buyers. Let Amorim reshape the whole squad, I have more belief in Amorim than ETH as there were many EPL looking at bringing him to United. For ETH, I didn't hear anyone other than United going for him.

There was, and maybe still is, a culture at the club where the players are absolutely uncoachable. If Amorim can change that, as he did at Sporting by all accounts, fantastic. If he can’t, we cannot point the finger at a fourth highly esteemed manager.
Yeah I’m going to puke if we “build around Bruno” again or are trying to “get the best out of Rashford”If you hire him to coach then listen to him at all cost.
