Ruben Amorim - Manchester United Head Coach

As I said, pathetic stuff calling the coach who's only here a couple of months a coward already. Says alot more about you than anything else really.

Bloody hell you drama queen.

He was brave as feck at Sporting, but currently he’s starting every game with 5 defenders and a defensive midfielder, that’s cowardly whether you like it or not.

We have 7 of our 11 players that are defensive man. When you couple that with a striker who barely scores or creates…

Yeah because the Premier League and Portuguese Premier League are the same. Shall we go gung-ho and get smashed every game?

Rashford and Garnacho dont have the defensive discipline to play wing back. Yes Amad should go back to the RWB. But we dont have the wingers to play as a wing back.

 sure mate. Better than being a hysterical fool calling the coach a coward already. Jog on.

How much would we be able to spend by getting them out?
If we get Rashford out for any kind of fee, even like £20m it should give us a lot of flexibility. Those two wages alone are like £800k odd a week as well of numbers are to be believed.

We would be moving more than £50m off the books right off the bat. They earn £18m each a year I think plus Rashford can get some sort of fee in return.
In theory Casemiro should be the easier sell. The Saudi's should be all over that.
Rashford, I really am not sure we'll be able to budge.

I don’t doubt that Amorim is a good manager.

Sadly, he’s come into this absolute basket case of a club at the worst possible time.

He needs time to implement his style of play.

He won’t get it, because we have trigger happy owners and impatient fans.

He needs players to suit his style of play. He won’t get them, because 1. We don’t have the money to spend, because we’ve spaffed it all up the wall bringing players in for another system. Sadly, into an environment the seems entirely capable of turning world beating players* into those that look like they’d struggle to catch the Burnley first team. * not that we’ve signed any world beating players. I just mean that prime Messi could rock up to this squad and end up looking like Djemba * 2

2. The results and performances have been so bad so far that the owners won’t want to spend what’s required on the rebuild even if we had it, given they’re probably already looking at the next possible manager.

The only saving grace this season is that there are at least 3 teams who are probably still worse than we are. That said, PSR is only going to get worse when the financial impact of zero European football kicks in.

Come on that’s a bit of a leap that he’s lost the dressing room already, give the guy a chance Christ
It's not a leap at all, and I'm not talking about myself, it's the players, if we keep losing games at this rate, he's going to lose the dressing room

He just confirmed we have no money in january. So he needs results and he needs to get the current squad onboard or else he will be fired in february
The statement about the money gave me nervous tics. I knew that the money was small, but I still had hope for a left back. At least Alvra Carreras, whom we have a possibility to buy back, if he himself is interested.

But even with defeats against Liverpool and Arsenal, Amorim will not be fired. But if we don't win most games after the Arsenal game against Southampton, Brighton, Rangers, Fulham and FCSB, then I believe that Amorim could already be gone by early or mid-February. So maybe you are right about February.

Needs to learn his lessons faster, apart from that I’m backing him 100%.

1. Never play Cas and Eriksen in the same team again
2. Never play Dalot and Maz as the 2 WB’s again
3. Never play Zirkzee again period.
4. Play Yoro for the rest of the year to bed him in fully
5. Play Amad as a WB

Just for starters. Not easy I know with injuries, suspensions and disciplinaries.

Onana
Yoro DeLigt Martinez
Amad Ugarte Mazraoui Garnacho
Bruno Mainoo
Hojlund
Give it a go! But for a few games.

Is that you ten Hag? Playing Maz in midfield again?

Again its a simple question how is he supposed to sell his idea if he keeps changing everytime we lose? Wouldnt you as a player question everything then? How can he convince players to buy into something if he himself doesnt believe it by changing it everytime there is hardship?
He's not going to get the players to buy in by playing in a way that's getting them pumped in the majority of games.

Confidence is a huge part of top level sport, and you get confidence from winning, not sticking with a game plan that's causing you to lose regularly.

I have some sympathy for him in that a lot of the goals we are conceding are coming from individual errors that shouldn't be made by professional footballers...but with that said, we need to be looking like scoring goals to win matches if we can't defend properly. At the moment we're playing five defenders and still conceding shit goals. Not good enough.

I think we'll sign a couple of proper wingbacks in January, which is where we're having the most issues with this system, solve that and I think things will improve pretty quickly
Hopefully... but didn't Amorim himself come out and say that we won't/can't do any business in January?

Trigger happy owners? Ten Hag was given far more time than he deserved and we don't know what happened with Ashworth.

He did, today, and there’s no way Sir Jim allows a manager that doesn’t win games to spend money on ‘his’ players. They were burned by Ten Hag in the summer

In all fairness I'd rather see Antony at RWB/LWB than Dalot or Mazraoui.
Ok but when he has played as wingback he does well defensively but what has he done going forward? Its going to be same situation as Dalot - they are both shite on the left going forward. We need someone who is good going forward, someone who overlaps well.

I feel for him. He wanted to join next summer, when he could properly coach the squad and bring new players in. INEOS said no, it’s now or never. This may have doomed him because regardless of how the club keeps saying he has time, we can’t just lose every game like we are. Bringing him in to this mess the way we did was a terrible idea and may have permanently ruined his chance of success here.

In the long term, I'm starting to be concerned if he's got enough experience to be able to pivot tactically based opponents. He can't keep being stubborn on formation and tactics if opponents know how to get around the team he has - how's he adapting?

We haven't been 'pumped' by anyone under Amorim.

Even tonight we were utter shit for 30 mins, he brings Mainoo on and the game was pretty even from that point. The scorelines don't always tell the story.

I thought we were getting a manager who is modern, talented and tactically astute and will take us places, it seems like we have signed a manager who talks well but in the end is very stubborn and clueless.

Is there no formation in the world except 3-4-3 for us which is basically 5-4-1. We hardly create anything and with soo many defenders we still concede goals after goals on crosses.

Why can't we try to have Amad on one side (RWB) and Antony on other side (LWB), both of them are hardworking players, heck atleast have one wingback who is able to take players on. our left CAM either its Bruno, Rashford or Garnacho does not have the ability to take players. Plus the positioning is all wrong of both CAM players on both sides, they are playing closer to LWB, leaving Hojlund completely alone with nobody even closer to him.

Manager needs to have a word with himself. We look to be on continued downward spiral with no stop and with every defeat players are losing confidence.
Good post.

He should go with the actual wingers in the wingback positions and utilise Mazraoui as one of the CBs. The formation then would make more sense with the personnel he has it his disposal.
