Ruben Amorim - Manchester United Head Coach

Seems likes a great personality and character. Very likeable coach.

So far almost everything he says seems spot on, how he handles the media, very charismatic.

As a player, this should be the kind of coach you run through brick walls for. Not sure about our diva's though.
Amorim is somewhat charismatic, but I feel that there's a language barrier and he sometimes doesn't know how to convey his ideas into words. He's no Slot.
Let's see how he will handles the English media. I think the worst is yet to come.

It’s a disaster but no more of a disaster than finishing just outside the European placed. So mid table or bottom half is basically the same. Hence I’d rather Amorim stick to his principles even if we lose our next three games (which I think will happen whatever approach he takes).

I agree on the sticking with the plan, and Amorim has my complete support. But if you’d said to me at the start of the season we may be even worse than the last, I’d have viewed that as a bit of a disaster.

Huh? His English is great? Seems a total reach based on absolutely nothing that he wouldn’t know how to convey his ideas? Literally making up shite to complain about

Disagree completely.

No. In fact, completely the opposite. He's spoken clearly and been up front about everything.

As for Slot, it's easy to answer when the only questions he's gotten so far are along the lines of "In your view, how great are you and your team?"

Pragmatism is required to get through this period.

Whilst you have to look to the future, you also have to navigate the short term to keep results flowing - otherwise you have no future or faith from the fans.

When Klopp started at Liverpool they were rank, but he kept picking up results (especially at home) to tick along before he could implement the big changes he wanted.

Amorim may well find himself under intense pressure if he keeps losing, so the idea of looking to the future may be a mute point.

Incidentally i think he is a top manager.

'Pragmatism' in our case would see reversion to ten hAg 4231.

Implementing 3241 (or whatever it is) will need to be consistent.

As many have already suggested, we are doing well in matches but conceding buck stupid goals, missing our chances and dropping tempo. A clear issue with mentality, and game management.

It's up to the players to deliver.

Promoting talents in our youth team is the only way in these circumstances.

Yes, albeit gradually. We've seen some youth players crash and burn. Mainoo is not performing. A short leash.

I promise you, we will not get relegated. 100% certainty that we won't.

I've already put us in the Championship on fifa career mode. A retained Rashford is on sixteen goals after five matches.

We're back.

Only way to handle the media is with results, his linguistic quality assurance is less important.

His English is perfectly fine, you're just getting bamboozled by his accent.

Amorim knows exactly what’s needed and he’s probably thinking this is a mess but he’s obviously not going to say that out loud. I feel for the guy… he’s a really good coach and a smart guy, I just hope we’re ruthless and let him sell who he wants. No more protecting players.

This is beyond key, too long have we "protected values" by keeping these players and hoping they turn it around, we need to ship these players out if they aren't good enough

Which certain ones have proved they aren’t under several managers.

Two or three players in problem areas, notably down the left and another combative midfielder which could possibly facilitate a more advanced role for Kobbie, should put a completely different complexion on things. It's far too soon for hysteria. We need to support this guy, out of the last six permanent appointments, he's the guy most likely to. That's gotta be something to hang on to.

What do you smoke… yes we are poor but relegated? Everyone is so dramatic right now. We did well in some games and started to control them, we did well agaibst City and actually ok against Spurs. Then we had two shit games no idea why but I am sure things will improve again. Just look how many stupid goals we concede

We’ve been shit most of the season, not just two games. We were so poor we sacked our manager, and although I’m a huge admirer of our new manager we’ve actually regressed since we sacked ten Hag. A step backward may be necessary before we take two steps forward, but we’ve taken far more than a step backward. We’re sliding into the relegation dogfight zone.

Only a Baghdad Bob would fail that we’re in deep shit, not out of the woods.

I agree completely.
It was clear to see what Ruben was introducing his first game and things seemed to be going OK. We've dominated some teams and ended up losing due to a few defensive brain-farts which seemed to dent our confidence. If we could sort out defending set pieces and get a bit more luck in front of goal we should be on the right track. We just need our strikers to be more dynamic in front of goal as at the moment the preverbial cows arses and banjo's springs to mind as we've no composure whatsover in the box

I cba to watch tonights match, it was time to try some new players in new roles but we always play Dalot at LWB when we can try wingers as wingbacks

I can’t really blame him for our predicament. The fecking club essentially wrote off the season keeping ETH.

All those fans who said ‘we should keep him because he beat baldy and his cheat code for the FA Cup’ despite finishing 8th in the league and getting annihilated by the likes of Brighton, Bournemouth and Palace, this is what you’ve got.

The situation he's in right now is exactly why he wanted to wait until the end of the season to take over. The fact that we insisted he take over immediately should give him tons of leeway.

I think the hirerachy is fully behind him, and they will support him, he he probably has to see this season through and assess the situation to help in summer signing.
Results would not affect him, unless it's relegation form.

We'll see the fruits of his labour against the likes of Preston North End and Stoke next season.

His vision shouldn't change obviously. Just fix the set pieces as an immediate concern.

Why does he continue to play with wide men who aren't an attacking threat? Watch everything go through Dalot again.

I know this isn't even a remotely original observation but you see a starting 11 on paper like the one tonight and you realise once again the absolute state of what he has walked into and you do feel for him.

That back three should be an acceptable level of quality, in theory. Beyond that you've got two natural full backs shoehorned in as wingbacks, two geriatrics in midfield, two centre forwards who rarely score (one of them not even playing up front) and then a ton of expectation on the one other lad, who has been doing well but frankly isn't good enough to carry a team.

The answer to your question is a) because Garnacho and Rashford can’t defend for shit b) because Amad is needed at 10, seeing as Mount is injured and Bruno is banned c) because Antony isn’t an attacking threat as a winger, never mind as a wingback

Neither can Dalot.

They've hung him out to dry, bringing in a manager like this mid season is chronically stupid.

Why? Getting someone else in and they do well for a few months will give some of these wasters more time to stick around.
