The nearer it gets the more worried I am! I just really want to have a feel good factor for a little while. Continue that Ruud momentum. The gut punch of ETH’s first two games was heart breaking.
Win, draw or lose tomorrow is not really important in the long run, but we are on a positive streak and I really want it to continue.

Yea I think he means with the press 'win time' etc.
Well give him time if there's a clear progression with which we can extrapolate future success
Yeah but the problem is that the press really go hard on United managers, and it then creates an infiltration in the club.

Ole in my opinion was done by the off field stuff and press stuff that shattered his progress for 2 years. Teh Hag got totally lost in the off field pressure and gave up his own footballing principles which got him here.

Ruben won’t get time as well if the results don’t start coming in. He will have some amnesty this year but next year onwards; it will be the same.

I believe we started this season well and did lots of right things. But the press negativity grew and it seeped into the dressing room. That was ETHs writing on the wall. Although, some decisions he was making were completely baffling as well. Dropping Amad after one of his best games being one of them. The the refusal to play Ugarte the other.

If you didnt know before what Amorim was doing in Portugal, you must have been living under a rock.
I'd only ever heard his name on this forum. Pretty sure I don't live under a rock, I just stick to English football

This one https://www.redcafe.net/threads/life-after-eth-—-the-next-united-manager.484577/page-74#post-32528525

the sub heading: If we sack Ten Hag, who do you want as manager?
This is the poll that had me wondering who the hell Amorim was. After doing extensive research I was impressed. But kept my T Frank vote.
Thanks for posting this.

For anyone scratching their heads and trying to remember who you voted for, if you clock on the yellow bar representing the number of votes you’ll get a list of names who chose that particular option.

Now it’s that Amorim has impeccable English (far from it), they are either building managers or tearing them down. I hate the English press.

The English press has always had a “build them up to tear them down” modus operandi since I started watching football.

I wish some of you guys knew how tough a time it is to manage outside of this league. The United manager job is sooo much easier compared to say Barcelona or Madrid.

The English press are nothing compared to their Spanish counterparts.

Ole was shielded from criticism by all the ex United pundits. Ten Hag was a darling until his own silly answers started to rub people the wrong way. We cant get battered and then come out and say we played well.

I'm portuguese and I totally understand why people won't see our league: low budget teams and too much focus on tactics makes our league terrible to watch at times.
Nonetheless, is a good league for players to learn tactical nuances.

On a serious note, was curious to watch his interview with Neville and the press conference today but can't do it because it feels weird to me watching the guy speaking in english and everything he does or he says is completely blown out of proportion for the good or the bad let's say, guess it's the price of being on a global club where he isn't only going to be insulted by guys on the UK + Ireland or even Continental Europe but also Africa, Asia, North America, you name it.

Being a guy who started watching football in the 90's I am reaching a point where the social media + global sports channels they are completely turning football into a reality show, it's much more difficult to be a football coach this days, not only regarding how you express yourself, but 24 hours cycles of football media, hundreds of podcasts, a random guy from another continent on social media ( only an example) telling how much you suck as a coach or a player, players and their agents and social media stans.

It's just crazy man, I am open for evolution and all that but the external factors of football are going on a certain way that are sucking the joy of watching a simple game of football.

On a certain way it is much more demanding for the mental health of players and coaches when you reach the top level this days than it was 20 years ago.

Knowing that there was a lot of bad things for the protection of the players in the past not only regarding tackles but also sport science, medicine, fitness, recovery, nutrition and all that.
Give this guy all the likes

People joke about EtH speaking English but I'm listening to Pep explaining his 5th defeat in a row and I have almost no idea what's hes saying (who cares lol).

128 pages and he has not even coached one game!

We need to cool our jets about Ruben. It's beginning to feel RAWKish now. The adoration is OTT at the moment. It's actually sounding more like desperation.

God forbid people discuss a new manager they're excited about. Is it not possible to be excited about something while at the same time acknowledging it might not work? It's not black and white.

I read somewhere that he does not read news anywhere at all and completely ignores the off the field stuff to focus on his work which is great.

I hope he really sticks to his guns and implement his ideas from the get go, many of these players know that despite EtH's failure, they were also blamed for it too, Amorim will get the benefit of doubt in his early days but the players will be slammed by the fans if they don't go 110% and give it all.

What do you expect? We appointed him a week before the break.

As per my original post, i was referring to the poll taken around FA Cup final time.
That was a fun poll/thread. You're absolutely right, though there were a couple of Amorim heads in that one. This guy acting like going to bat for Amorim 3 weeks ago was a bold stance is pretty funny.

Can we get someone to write an article on his star sign compatability with our players. I wonder if his Aquarius water traits will mesh with Rashfords Scorpio.
Dunno, since you know our players' start signs, I think we should get you to do it at this point.
