That other thread makes me laugh...

'Ooh he's had it now...he's stupid...there's no place for that kind of thing in the game.'

I fail to see how any normal Manchester United fan can have anything but total admiration for a man who injures a city player then stands over him slagging him off.

I was at the match and i applauded you then Roy...as we all did.

And i applaud you now.

I cringed when I saw Roy's boot hit Haalands leg.

I still support, respect and admire Keano but that doesn't change the fact that what he did was stupid, whether it was a siddy player or a scouse or sheep, makes no difference, it was stupid and I'm sure he knows it.

Not only could he have ended Haalands career, he could have ended his own if he'd have clipped him awkwardly and fecked himself up.

Keano is a fecking hero in my book too but even heroes make mistakes sometimes... Kung Fu Cantona anybody?

my car was broken into in Kippaz street.

Roy Keane is what every team lacks. No Guts No Glory, He would start and IMO captain any team in the world. He is 100% committed. Anyone that has a problem with him is just DUMB. If he never plays for Ireland again, it will hurt more than it hurts anyone, it's just a shame that the people around him are not at the same level he is on.

Bit of an idiot then aren't you. I dont see why you're proud of it, I dont think Keane is proud of it and no one in their right mind would be proud of it.

Football is a game u fag. Keane is captain of the greatest club in the world, he is a father, a husband, you could say he is an ambassador, but what he did was dreadful whether your playing in the premiership, a sunday league, or whether you've just climbed out of the trenches to have a kickabout with some nazis on christmas day.

You're probably the type of person who would cheer if ten thousand Bin Laden supporters were massacred by the US army. I doubt even those soldiers want to be out there killing people.

My point is if you think purposely inflicting vicious harm on a fellow human is ok - then your a faggot, dirt, scum and frankly you're a bad example of a Man Utd fan, of the state of Manchester's schools and maybe even a bad example of your parents.

I love Keane, what he did was wrong. If anything I worry about his attitude and mental state, I mean is the guy sane or what?

Hurting Haaland - it was wrong but I dont care. If he were to turn around and say he is proud of it (like you've said) THEN I'd lose respect.

You have never played football in your life and if you have it could only be junior football.

I'm a fag?

Some American term is that?

You stick to academia and we'll play the sports...

fag indeed.

He's a flawed genius.
He's my hero too.
But the Haaland thing was wrong.
He shouldn't get sucked into mixing it with a mucker like Haaland.
Haaland couldn't clean Keano's boots.
It would be a shame if another Keane tackle on Haaland were to cost us our best player again.

Those tackles happen all the time with intent.

Roy just admitted it.

Jack Charlton had a little black book...so did Norman Hunter.

It's a contact sport.

Now that he's admitted what we all knew lets hope he doesn't become a target. If he's willing to dish it out he's got to be willing to take it and much as I admire, even love (not that way <img src="graemlins/nono.gif" border="0" alt="[No No]" /> ) the guy what he did was wrong. How would we feel if someone not half the player Roy is crippled him an a tackle, we'd all be going nuts <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" />

Keyboard footballers...

The only thing he did wrong was do the tackle himself.

One of Roys team mates should have done it for him.

It's a city player for fecks sake...nee leeds.

It doesn't matter who Haaland played for, deliberatly aiming to injure another player is not on. We'd be half a team without Keano, but there is no justification for what he did, even if it was a City player he targetted.
If someone did that to one our players and boasted about it in an autobiography, you'd be screaming for such a player to be banned for life.
Keano is integral to our team, let's hope he remains that by not repeating what he did to Haaland.

You got it just right in my opinion. I worry that the flaws in his head are getting larger as time passes. And for God's sake, surely he can afford a lawyer to tell him how daft he is writing that in a book.

And if we're being held 1-1 at OT by City with five minutes to go, I'd prefer our captain to concentrate on getting the winning goal.

He's a great player though.

Your fecking so stupid I cant believe it. (I'm from Manchester you prick.)

The people who accuse others of not playing football before are either a) internet idiots with a fake persona, b) dont know nothing about the game or c) plain stupid.

What Keane did is no better than going up to someone in the street and trying to cripple them.

Its bad enough trying to steal something, trying to hurt someone or insult someone etc - but to cripple them? I cant condone that and whoever does is still a baby who cant see past their own little world.

Durng a match I sometimes try and maybe hurt someone, perhaps a little kick in the shin etc - all part of the game. But to injure them? I have my own injury and its pure hell to find yourself unable to join in with your mates or perform like you know you can - I would never wish that on anybody. Think of it like someone injuring your dick and never being able to have sex for months/years and when you do - its never quite the same.

I kow if someone did that to Beckham or a Utd player I'd go mad, and you'd be screaming bloody murder.

Here, try using your brain eh? All the pundits, ex-pro's, journalists, EVERYONE IN THE feckING GAME - will say it is wrong. NOBODY has said it was right or even that it was ok. and these people have played the game, they make a living off the game.

Keano himself has admitted he was stupid and that he has problems.

Still breathing? Figure this one out - WHY THE HELL ARE YOU OF ALL PEOPLE SAYING ITS OK???

You're not a real football fan, if you were you would know all about the beautiful game. Man Utd is not about crocking City folk, bashing scousers etc, we're about being cavalier, arrogant, stylish.

You want thugs, you go to Leeds who happily sing songs of Munich. Condone that as well do you? Cos the Leeds equivalent of you does.

I can ignore stupid sheep and scousers, but when its one of your own I cant help but be disgusted and ashamed.

Maybe I am missing something because I am a female but why a poster like Shaolin has to make his point about Keane by calling people who disagree with him `fag`, makes no bloody sense whatsoever.

And then Shaolin gets all upset with the fairly restrained reply he gets from may 26? If you are going to dish out illogical abuse, calling people fag because they don`t agree with you, then expect some replies correcting you.

As for Nazis playing football on Christmas Day with the Brits - it was the FIRST World War, not the second. It was the German Imperial Army whose members played football on Christmas day with the `enemy` <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

Do you see any other posters answering others by sayin "your stupid" "you idiot" "you fag"
cause I don't, oh wait you do.
it doesn't help the discussion, and god knows it doesn't help you make your point.

and don't even get me started about you telling people they know nothing about football every time you post.

If Keane played for anyone else,he would get more grief. The man doesn't care about anyone but himself. He is starting to embarrass a big club like MU.Instead of gloating of trying to ruin a fellow footballers career,he should just lay low and keep quiet.Don't you have the feeling that he's gonna end up a bitter sad man soon enough.

He is a hero. But that tackle is not something to be proud of. It was stupid on his part to bring it up again. Keano needs to forget about the off pitch arguments he seems determined to stir up. He should get back to doing what made him a hero in the first place. Making United tick. And for god sake we need it at the moment

Ant - you've been found out mate.

Just found this new song from RI:
You put your right boot in
You don’t pull out
You do the blue bastard
And you take Alfie out
You bark down his ear
And tell him City are down

Oh that’s what its all about

Ohhhhhhh………feckin do him Keanooooo
Ohhhhhhh………feckin do him Keanooooo
Ohhhhhhh………feckin do him Keanooooo

Knees bent, he's down
Roy, roy, roy ....

A strange one this debate.

26 says that a lot of people at OT applauded the action when it happened, and I've no reason to doubt that.
The heat of the moment, the tension of a derby game. I certainly know that when I go to a football game with a tense atmosphere, there's nothing like a bit of bother on the pitch to get the adrenaline flowing. And of course you stand by 'your' man...

In hindsight we can all be 'reasonable' and admit it was a stupid and dangerous thing to do. But I'm pretty sure I would've cheered Roy on as well had I been there. It's things like this that get the blood rushing, be it 'wrong' or 'right'...

And of course it would be another story had the roles been reversed and Keano getting kicked down. But since when did football support become an excersise in logic?

yadda yadda yadda.

Forgive me if I offended you or anyone else, I just speak my mind. Its only words that have no meaning - its a natural reaction tho.

I never said I was an angel, I'm foul mouthed, have a hot temper and I have little to no manners.

Someone said that to me I would say "shut up you dont know shit you little wanker, your a bloody disgrace, grow the feck up" etc etc. Just my culture, someone says something I dont like I give them abuse or just get them away from me.

I wasnt debating a football issue, there is no debating. The guy is plain wrong. I mean, is he 12 or something?

Since it bothers so many people, I will try to pollute your monitor screens a little less.

You're right 26 May but because he's not the only one doesn't make it all right...

And I remember those days (early seventies), and what Leeds perpetrated on the beautiful game is something that I still haven't forgiven Leeds for...

Because Leeds brought disgrace to the game of football is no reason for Roy Keane to heap more shame on it... :( ...
