Why does it only appear when using IE?

Edit:

FAO, my misstake. The banner appears whichever browser you use, you just have to be logged off.

What's this Rooney Banner all about? Heard it mentioned somewhere else too.

I am confused.

umm, would've taken a screenshot but it suddenly dissappeared.

Does it only appear when you're not logged in?

In other words, the caf is using flashy graphics to trick people to sign up. Once they're in there's no more graphics.

I'm beginning to think the "Firefox is better than IE" slogan is a myth.

Used both extensively and have come to the conclusion that IE7 is the better browser now, wasn't the case with earlier releases of IE though.

The reason you see stuff in IE and not Firefox is because IE happily runs Javascript and Flash without question. Firefox on the other hand can be easily configured to NOT run potentially harmful scripts by default.

Firefox is still better than IE if you value your computer security.

Having a "good time" online is more important than being afraid of scripts, imo.

I'm switching over to IE now, feck fox!

The only catch with IE I can think of is not being able to copy image-adress with right-clicks.

maybe you need the latest IE browser 7.
\
I have it at home and have the Rooney Banner. 6.02 at the office and nothing.

I don't know tbh. What I mean is, it's much more pleasant surfing while the web is more interactive (pics, videos or whatever). Holding that back because of some potentially dangerous script is, umm.. uncessecary?

hehe

Tbh your more likely to have issues with ie than with the fox, such flash and active x, although it shouldnt really matter which browser unless you are using linux....in which case you are either wierd, a geek or both.

I'd go with confused.
