OK I am dreaming but let's look at some interesting facts...

1. Our new assistant manager is Portuguese.. language problem solved...

2. The Nike deal starts this summer... Ronaldo is like, a property of Nike so why not combine forces of the greatest team on the planet with possibly the greatest striker on the planet...

3. Since Andy Cole left the no. 9 shirt has been vacant... for Ronaldo?

4. SAF has said on many occasions that he believes that 4 strikers is the minimum for the PL... with Disco most certainly leaving... could Ronaldo be the fourth?

5. Sky Sports According to Skysports... Ronaldo dreams of playing in England... and let's face it he's not signing for City!!!

Thoughts?

Yep, you are dreaming. Ronaldo is the property of Inter, not Nike. Yes our assistant manager is portugese, but you need more than just someone in the staff who can speak a players language.

So what if the number 9 is vacant? We probably didn't give it to Diego to lower the pressure. Yes, we probably will be signing a striker, but Ronaldo? ehh, no.

Well he should frighten a few defenders that's for sure.

Unless he wears a mask.

All your points are valid, however, aren't Inter a Nike team too? Plus, they've nursed him along for two years and now he's almost back to full fitness so with him alongside Vieri they'll probably have the best strike duo in the world.

I doubt we'll get him, he's 25 and Inter would be crazy to sell. It is Italy though and they do need influxes of cash... We shall see.

i agree with your thinking too, and if he carries on playing like he is it might convince the united board! ronny and rio next season would is my dream at the mo

agreed on all them points... and yes Nike 'owns' him and not Inter... He moved to Inter from Barca coz Nike told him too...

:D

I believe Ronaldo know some spanish and dutch and italian so languages shouldnt be a problem.

Earth to United fans, Earth to United fans, can anyone hear me?

I suppose not.

Veron out, Ronaldo in

Yorke and Fortune + 8 million for Duff

Rio in

Simple.

Siginig Ronaldo, is not as far fetched as it sounds.

I know that people like kemo talk so much bollox, about signing, half of the italian and spanish league, but it has to be said that many of us are always really negetive when it comes to transfers.

My mind takes me back to Veron, last summer.

Ronaldo sigining could well happen, i not saying it definately will, but there is a strong chance, especially if Seba leaves. We all know that it is in defence that a major reinforcement is needed, i.e a Ferdinand or Nesta (ps not Thuram i hope), but when yorke goes, we will need another striker, and Ronaldo could well be the answer.

all i'm saying is have faith in our club and in the idea of possibility, i mean what is the point of being one of the biggest clubs in the world both in terms of support, history and financial power, if signings like ronaldo aren't a strong possibility!

Maybe, but hardly for the reasons talked about here. 'Nike owns Ronaldo and their now working with United'. Geesh! He has a contract with Inter.

Veron sold?

He's hardly as unattractive as Solskjaer. ;)

It's true that Inter have been nursing him for ages... almost since WC 98 but I bet that the moneymen at Inter would give it a good thought if they were offered 25M for the player... mind you that he could well end up injured for another 4 years and a player earning what Ronaldo does is an expensive member of rehabilitation room....

It would be extremely difficult for Ronaldo to be more attractive than anyone!

Ronaldo to United.

Ronaldo plays 2 games and there goes the knee again.

Ronaldo to United's rehab room and gets fit right before Munich 2006.

I'm asking a serious question here!

So when Veron says, (amidst loads of rumours) that he wouldnt rule out leaving Man Utd or returning to Lazio, we crucify him.

But when Ronaldo, (amidst rumours), says he has an itch to play in England, a dream etc, he is chatting shit?

it's ok

Nike will be paying his wages if we only loan him ;)

Will they decide if he plays (Brazil 1998 World Cup Final) or does Fergie?

Why confused?

It's a tribal thing. Veron not honouring his contract would be seen as disloyal. Ronaldo wanting to come here would be seen as a compliment.

IF there's a chance of us signing Ronaldo we'd be stupid not to take that chance IMO.

Yes, he has been injured for 4 years - but he is fit ATM and he might not get an injury ever again.

Yes, he hasn't played in the Premiership - but he has succeeded in Brazil, Holland, Spain and Italy - why would he fail in England?

Ronaldo is the most talented striker in the world IMO and is right about now, again, beginning to make real of his potential.

LOL. Could anyone imagine SAF's reaction if Nike messed around with his team for the sake of Ronny ? Would be pricelss ;)

what if he gets injured again?

with his tag & wages, would it be wise to take that chance?

I think the most sensible option would be to take him for a years loan (with Nike paying his wages) with the option of taking him on a permanent basis of a fixed price. ;)

There's ALWAYS a chance of a player being injured and that's a chance you must take.

Ronaldo would of course have to take a medical like anybody else and if proven fit there's no reason to think he's more injury prone than Keane, Beckham or van Nistelrooy. Yes, he has had injury problems in the past 4 years but that's mainly down to him not being patient enough when coming back.

Has Ronaldo signed a new contract ? Surely his contract should be up in a couple of years.....which means he is ready to be sold or re-signed.

If we sign Ronaldo it will be great but we really need two more defenders PLEEEEEEZ!!!!One CB and another who can play at CB and LB.....silvestre need some competition. It was easy for him to knock OLD Dennis Irwin.
