Did anyone else notice Sky Sports mention this during the Ajax Tournament coverage today? His intended destination being Real Madrid. I think he would be our perfect no9.

Yes they said he would prefer Real Madrid but Manchester United must be tempting
IMO Fergie already knows who will be coming

Another Ronaldo rumour?

Don't you guys get bored with this topic? Try a Shevchenko rumour instead next time. <img src="graemlins/angel.gif" border="0" alt="[Angel]" />

Valdano Rubbishes Ronaldo To Real Reports

08/03/2002. European superclub Real Madrid have held an emergency press conference to quash sudden speculation that wantaway Inter star Ronaldo is within hours of a blockbuster move to the Spanish capital.

"It's not our policy to deny rumours but before creating false expectations I want to totally clarify the situation - at present neither Inter Milan wants to sell nor do Real want to buy Ronaldo," insisted Real Madrid director Jorge Valdano on Friday evening.

The Argentine supremo did not rule out a future bid for the World Cup golden boot winner, however, after being personally informed by Ronaldo's agent that his top client is craving a move away from Milan.

"I contacted Inter regarding the situation, as this is in line with our non-aggression pact. We came to a conclusion – only if Inter indicate their intention to part with the player will Real even think of negotiating with Ronaldo," Valdano added. "If he receives the all-clear to leave, however, then we would study the possibility of recruiting him but Ronaldo is not a strategic recruitment even if he is an ace and aces interest us."
