The latest post in soccerage.com says that Ronaldinho is coming to United and the negotiation is ongoing. Is there any truth in the report? Hopefully, United can get another striker to supplement the strike-force.

son don't believe everything you read there a few years ago i was told liverpool were signing zidane by the site im pretty sure he is playing for a brutal side called real i think, would u drop beckaham for ronaldinho? both play same position

Exactly. Ronnie plays wide-left,behind the striker(s), or up front. I'm not sure about him as an out and out striker mind.

This lot claim we are going to tie the deal up for the summer. Not sure that Channel 4 are that reliable.

Ronaldinho normally plays behind the striker (like Scholes is doing at the moment) or as another out and out striker that also drops back a bit deeper (like Thierry). He can also play on the left mid but I don't know how good he goes there.

I used to think we had a good shot at getting him (and he was the guy I most wanted), but over the last month he seems more and more likely to head to Italy instead. And at the same time the guys on here have convinced me that Cisse would be better for us anyway, although I certainly wouldn't say no to Ronnie (both would be a dream come true...hell, while I'm dreaming throw in Henry and Raul as well ;) ).

We dont need another striker, not while we have RVN who scores alot, Scholes who is a great finisher, Solskjær super sub nr1, Forlan super sub nr 2, and Webber and Nardiello waiting to get their chance.

I think Ferguson will buy a striker next summer though.

No news about it on l'Equipe.
We don't need him now, IMHO, but for next year he could be very useful (particularly if he were cheap). I don't imagine we'd pay over 10 million for him.
Also, I imagine Cisse would be too expensive - 20 million or so and I don't see us going for that bait.

I think we'll definately have to wait for the summer for more signings now, why would Fergie want to disrupt a team on great form now

but we could live to regret not getting anyone if Van is injured long-term.
I think fergie has tried signing someone but it aint that easy, as he said

i reckon it doesnt matter if we get Ronnie, cos I think SAF will still go for Cisse as well. So by me its cool is he does come. Not to worried if he doesnt. Cisse on the other hand we really must get.
As for cost etc. If SAF is given the funds he'll get both. We need options, and not 'back up'. Both these players could never be considered back up. And the way the top squads are goin in Europe, 'back up' is not an adeqaute description.

I don't think we need both...and we will probably just get on of them....as we've already got a good squad..our first choice must be cisse...if they ask too much 4 him or he starts fussing....then we should buy Ronaldinho..

I havn't seen the papers yet today so I dont know if this is in it or not but they are reporting on Irish radio that Wenger has set his sights on ronaldinho for £11million in the summer. Now what annoys me is that when we're linked with him its for £20million. I think its time the club stopped being so generous with the transfer fee's and started to haggle a bit!! Arsenal want him as a replacement for Bergkamp.

Might all be crap, you never know?

Not in todays transfer market, I keep on saying it United will sign Cisse for about £15m this summer.

Ronaldinho I think will go to Inter Milan for a similar type price...watch this space!

Arsenal have joined Manchester United in the race to sign Ronaldinho from Paris St Germain, says The Sun.
The paper claims Arsene Wenger is preparing an £11million summer bid for the striker whose goal helped Brazil knock England out of the World Cup.

United have been tracking Ronaldinho for some time but Wenger is confident he can persuade the player to link up with fellow Brazilians Edu and Gilberto Silva at Highbury.

Somebody please tell me this is a rubbish story!

Wenger only wants him so he can watch him lob semen, er Seaman, every day in training.

Let ronaldinho go to inter milan and we'll have cisse :D

I think they very well might. And go bankrupt after moving to the new library and flog off all their players. Sad. Things shouldn't be that way.

Ronaldinho will not go for 11 m

Perhaps the paper are referring to Ronaldinho's boots??? :p

He will because the transfer market is fecked and no one has more than about 15m to spend on one player. Its a buyers market at the moment.

We are going to get Ronaldinho instead of the Gunnars. What else they got to compete with us... besides having 3 points ahead of us...
rubbish............

Does "Manchester United" really want to get him? Or is it only "the fans of Manchester United" want to get him?

I think MU wants to get him.
1. We have the money.
2. He can play on the left side too.
3. He is young.
If he want to play in the PL, I think he'll choose MU.

Ronaldinho is getting a reputation for being a party animal, wouldn't want to see him unsettle things.

Byland is only 19 and he's on a free at the moment.. I doubt he would demand much in wages either

Hes an all round player...except defence - (and in goal but apparently thats cos he's too small but I beg to differ)

Apparently he played on a free at his last club because he loved them so much and nothing to do with the fact they couldn't pay him - something to take note of course

exactly. As quick as they would be to sign him,he could be out just as fast if he doesn't show he is totally committed to being at United. If that is the case let him go somewhere else and we can use the money to sign Cisse.

thats true but then how do u know cisse is gonna be totally commited to man utd? for me there's no differenc ebetween cisse and ronaldinho. we just need some more pace in attack.

It has become rather well known that Ronaldinho is a bit of a playboy. Haven't heard anything of the sort about Cisse, yet, but if that were true about Cisse the same principle applies. If you are not going to give a hundred percent of yourself to Manchester United, don't waste our time. There are plenty of others out there who will show the neccessary committment to the club and will be far more worthy of wearing the red of Manchester United.

do we really want anouther dwight yorke? the way he acts of the pitch is the same as the big teethed one!!
