From Soccerage:
04/19/2003. Paris Saint-Germain playmaker Ronaldinho says he is ready to move to Serie A.

"I am happy in Paris but I want to play in the Champions' League," he told the Gazzetta dello Sport. "If PSG don't achieve that aim then I will reconsider my future plans.

"I can honestly say I feel ready for the next step and for me Serie A remains the temple of soccer. I also have many friends in Italy, such as Rivaldo.

"To play alongside Christian Vieri and Hernan Crespo would be just wonderful. I am very happy that Inter President Massimo Moratti considers me a great player and is following my progress.

"Juventus are another great club so Alessandro Del Piero and David Trezeguet are also great champions who I would love to play alongside."

Of course, if we won the CL he might change his mind.

Surprises me, I really got the feeling that he was the one who we almost signed last summer.

Why?

He'd fail. I'd bet my life on it.

IMO, Ronaldinhio would be a player who would help us in Europe but probably only contribute marginally in the league since we already have the likes of Scholes and Giggsy to play behind Ruud. Its really just a case of measuring what our first priorities are. Cisse on the other hand is the type of player who could do well both in league, cup ties, and in Europe. He's more of an out and out striker with blazing speed, as well as the physical attributes required to succeed in England.

Cisse didn't impress in Europe this season though did he? Or the WC. Seems more hype than actuality.

I wouldn't write him off so easily. I haven't watched him recently, but I have had a chance to watch him alot over the past three years. He's got all the tools that we need. Speed, excellent finishing, world class athleticism. BTW, he barely saw the light of day in the WC so I wouldn't include that as a knock against him. He's a young player who is going to explode onto the scene when he moves to a bigger league/club that fully utilyzes his talents. Mark my words.

Thats harsh. He only played a few minutes as sub in the WC, when he was only initially brought along for the experience. He made his debut a week or so before the tournament started and wouldn't have played at all if Trezeguet and Henry hadn't messed up so badly.
Since then he has been carrying injuries.
For example he has only played twice in the UEFA cup and once in the Champions League.
I'm basing my (high) opinions of Cisse on his appearances for the French under 21s and for Auxerre last year. I still haven't seen any other striker in the same age group who i think has the same potential, although i haven't seen Cristiano Ronaldo or Postiga enough.
More than this Cisse seems to be genuinely interested in playing in England and for United. As we can see with Ruud that is more than half the battle.
As for Ronaldinho, i'd like to see us sign him and i'd like to see it work but... <img src="graemlins/nervous.gif" border="0" alt="[Nervous]" />

Yeah! They always start up the rumours though don't they. They tell more lies than the sun!! C'mon don't believe it? What a signing he would be, and he would never fail at a team of our quality!!

Ronaldinho wants to play in CL.
So we have chance to sign him from Paris Saint-Germain.

I really wouldn't be overly concerned about what the Gazzetta dello Sport says. If we're to base future transfers on the Italian equivalent of the Sun, then there's little hope for any of us :)

When Veron was 1 week away from signing for us he said that he was not going anywhere, and that Lazio were his club.

There are lies, lies and more lies surrounding most major transfers, and you just don't know until the press conferance takes place.
