What's happened to Ron-Robert Zieler, I've not seen him in any of the teams so far this year is he injured? He played a few games for the reserves last year, and whilst looking a long way from the complete article, was a competent keeper.

Have we loaned him out or sold him? Is he injured? When is he due back? I've nothing against Amos or Heaton, but I really do like the look of this kid in the sticks to be honest.

He has a groin injury but is back in training......

I have a question, Tony. Is Lee Crockett still training with United? Is he still a United player?

He went on loan to Everton in the autumn, but he is back and training with the club, although it seems he is on his way out.

What was the point in sending two keepers on loan to the same club?
He played for their u-18 side to get noticed by other clubs.

No great surprise:

United keeper lands Hannover trial

Zieler: Could return to native Germany

TEAMtalk | Football | Premier League | Manchester United News - United keeper lands Hannover trial

Manchester United reserve goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler could be set to return to his native Germany after joining Hannover on trial.

The youth international has returned to his homeland to undergo a trial with Bundesliga outfit Hannover.

The 21-year-old is out of contract in the summer and is eager to secure a deal elsewhere.

"I came to Hannover hoping I can manage to stay at the club," he told Bild.

"They offered me the chance to have a trial and I am thankful for this as it isn't easy for people to watch me playing for the Manchester United reserves.

"I am happy being at Hannover. If everything goes fine I might have the opportunity to stay on."

Zieler was with hometown club Cologne when he was lured to United's youth Academy in 2005 before being given professional terms at Old Trafford in the summer of 2008.

He played two games on loan at Northampton during the 2008/09 campaign and has most recently had a trial at Belgium top-flight outfit Westerlo.

Zieler was Germany's first-choice keeper at the Under-20 World Cup in Egypt last year.

Zieler: On the move
Manchester United goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler has agreed terms for a summer move to Hannover, the German club have confirmed.

The 21-year-old has come through the youth system at United, having signed from Cologne in 2005, but he is out of contract in the summer and has decided to move on.

Zieler travelled back to Germany and Belgium earlier this month when he took part in several trials for the likes of Hannover and Westerlo.

Now he has agreed a two-year deal with Hannover, who are battling against relegation from the Bundesliga.

Zieler will become number two to Florian Fromlowitz at the AWD Arena.
