Zieler: Could return to native Germany
TEAMtalk | Football | Premier League | Manchester United News - United keeper lands Hannover trial
Manchester United reserve goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler could be set to return to his native Germany after joining Hannover on trial.
The youth international has returned to his homeland to undergo a trial with Bundesliga outfit Hannover.
The 21-year-old is out of contract in the summer and is eager to secure a deal elsewhere.
"I came to Hannover hoping I can manage to stay at the club," he told Bild.
"They offered me the chance to have a trial and I am thankful for this as it isn't easy for people to watch me playing for the Manchester United reserves.
"I am happy being at Hannover. If everything goes fine I might have the opportunity to stay on."
Zieler was with hometown club Cologne when he was lured to United's youth Academy in 2005 before being given professional terms at Old Trafford in the summer of 2008.
He played two games on loan at Northampton during the 2008/09 campaign and has most recently had a trial at Belgium top-flight outfit Westerlo.
Zieler was Germany's first-choice keeper at the Under-20 World Cup in Egypt last year.
