I hate this cnut, who the hell does he think he is ? He does not mention one good thing about United & fails to mention that every single United player barring Phil Neville would literally walk in to the Leeds team. Obviously one of Venables pals......pr**k!!!!!!!!!!!
"Manchester United have always fared well against Leeds in the Premiership, but I can see all that changing on Saturday lunchtime.
Leeds will never get a better chance to take a rare three points off their old rivals, because quite simply United aren't the side they used to be.
All eyes will be on Rio Ferdinand's explosive return, but the game could well be won or lost in the middle of the park at Elland Road. Without Roy Keane and Paul Scholes in midfield, United will struggle - especially if Juan Sebastian Veron keeps performing the way he has. There's no doubt the Argentinian can play, but is he a Premiership player? I don't think so.
With Keane missing many people have said it is Veron's big chance, but I just don't see him as the right type of player for our league. He's not a ball player, but a holder of the ball and at Elland Road he just won't be able to take the four or five touches he likes to.
Veron: make or break time
That maybe OK in Italy and in international football, but with the likes Lee Bowyer and Olivier Dacourt snapping at his heels and 40,000 Yorkshiremen screaming blue murder, he will have to step his game up. It is make or break time for Veron, and I just can't see him making it.
Also United look dodgy defensively. There's no doubt Ferdinand was a great signing and if anyone can cope with the stick he's going to get at Leeds, then it's Rio. He strikes me as the sort of player that will let the abuse roll off his back and boy will he have to! It can be hard - I should know, I've played with 100,000 people having a go at me - but I think Rio will take it in his stride.
But United look thin on the ground at the moment and the Bolton result showed they have still not sorted their defence out. I think if Terry Venables gets Leeds into the top five this year that is a successful season, but they will be right up for this one and could run out winners for the first time in a long while.
In Alan Smith they have the man of the moment, and I would like to see him given a go up front for Leeds as he did so impressively for England. He is one of those players that just looked very, very comfortable in international football and will be flying after his performance against Newcastle.
Smith: man of the moment
But although he does a good job down the right, I think United could be in for even more problems if Smith was in attack alongside Mark Viduka. For me, Harry Kewell does not do enough in the free role Terry has given him. I would rather see him doing what he does best, which is playing on the left-hand side running at defenders at pace. I'm sure Phil Neville wouldn't relish that particular challenge!
United will be keen to repair the damage done by Bolton and are slight favourites, but I can honestly see Leeds cutting through their defence if they get it right going forward.
Also, I think Sir Alex Ferguson is losing his mantle as the best manager in the game to Arsene Wenger. If Arsenal win the Premiership again then the balance of power will have definitely shifted, leaving Fergie wondering why he didn't pack it all in when he said he was going to"
