Anyone got it yet? Reviews are all 10/10

Guitar hero was great fun and I reckon this would be even better

Stood in HMV this evening watching a few lads play it and must admit was tempted to shell out the €200 to buy it but talked myself out of it at the last moment. In the back of my mind I know that the makers of Guitar Hero are bringing out their drumkit around Christmas time, and according to the drummer of the Chilli Peppers its very lifelike.

I'll probably end up buying it at the weekend though because i have no will power.

i heard in the next version they are making you able to play it with up to 30'000 people in what they call Rock Band - Superband. Where you get to play in stadiums and 4 people get to play as part of the band, whilst the other 29'996 play as fans and can cheer/boo etc.

Problem is, even on the PS3, although the software itself is region free, EA could very easily make the downloadable content region restricted. If the game is sold separately this wouldn't cause a problem, as you could buy the game from the UK and the instruments from the US.

the game is sold seperately, at least for the 360. Not sure about the PS3

I have only the game and use my guitar hero guitar, so that's nothing special, fun, but nothing new. My mate has the full kit on the other hand, and we've spend the whole afternoon playing. It's soooo much fun you wouldn't believe it until you play it for yourself. The only part that isn't fun is the poor sod that gets landed with the microphone, especially when some random german song is next in the set list.

10/10? Debatable. Close to it? Definitely.

Guitar hero x5
the drums and mic add a fun new dimension
the guitar that comes with it is of much higher quality
the game itself is better with a very interesting career mode

only drawbacks compared to guitar hero-
not as many good songs to choose from (expect more and better ones in rockband 2 think about the difference between guitar hero 1 and 3 songs)

the guitar is much easier on rockband than on guitar hero

Get a real guitar, you gaming weirdos.

Then know the suffering of not being able to play a certain chord, or not being able to figure out why no matter what you do, the G-string always sounds slightly out of tune, or picking up the guitar only to find that the plectrum which you specifically remember putting in between the strings has once again vanished into the great plectrum void.

In fact, just buy guitar hero
