Robbie Keane going = no Rio move?

With Leeds United having agreed to sell Robbie Keane to Sunderland, does this mean they are doing all they can to hang on to rio Ferdinand?
Surely with every player that Leeds sell the chances of United getting Ferdinand is lessened. United should act quickly if they want him or forget about it.

I reckon Leeds are going to sell any player they can make a few bob on. Keane and Rio's stock have both gone up quite a bit since the WC. O'Leary wouldn't have tolerated this type of PLC shenanigans, thats why they sacked him. My bet is that Leeds will sell at least three other senior players - either Bowyer, Kewell or Viduka will go too.

Bowyer's already going, Dacourt will rpobably go too and now Keane. Plus fringe players wil go. So probably not a move for Rio, adding the fact that PR said he wouldn't sell him too. But then's PR's word is nothing.

Leeds dont want to sell Rio, thats clear. And we havent made a move yet, so I think everyone, Leeds and Fergie, we're all waiting for Rio to make his move.

Fergie often does that with players - Dwight Yorke anyone?

Rio will see so many good players leaving, manager leaving, he will be insane and idiotic to stay. He has no loyalty to Leeds, only been there a short while and O'Leary was the one he owes, not the PLC. If Rio doesnt have the guts or desire to ask for a move, then its his loss.

Cancel this thread - Robbie Keane now says he doesn't want to move...

Shall we just cancel all your threads immediately as none of them ever come to pass?

One thing Rio does have is commitment. He didn't ask for a move from West Ham considering the sinking ship they were with Redknapp at the time so I wouldn't count on Rio asking for a transfer unless he really felt it was necessary.

I guess we'll have to wait for the new manager to see what happens.

LISTEN TO ME feckWIT.
This Robbie Keane deal was happening - are you blaming me for him deciding not to go after it was announced a fee had been agreed?
It certainly looks that way, both to me and I'm sure to more than a few others. Excuse me for providing you with some information.
You could try saying something constructive next time, eh? Something like 'perhaps it gives United a better chance of getting Rio if they can't sell Robbie Keane'

Apologies to everyone else for swearing in the above post...

Just like Martin O'Neil had cancelled his flight to Japan, but changed his mind and went out there anyway?
You must be really pissed off with these arrogant football types for ruining all your scoops.

How can it be ruined when it actually happened. (PS Sorry for calling you feckwit). And they're not my scoops... I''m just letting you know the info coming through...) If you have a problem with that, then let me know.

I don't have a problem, I just think it would be easier if your posts carried some sort of warning.

Something along the lines of: "Just because I am a reporter, you should not necessarily believe anything I write as it usually turns out to be as reliable as one of Neele Thommsun's Big Brother predictions."

That way you won't have to go round begging for your threads to be removed after yet another arrogant football type has made you look a bit silly.

If you have a problem with this warning, let me know.

I predicted Jade and I was right. I think I said Adele too, I just didn't anticipate kate and jonny at the same time. Would have made a mint out of that bet if I did.

What's your problem with reporter, charlene? He's giving us news early that has been true, even if its changed later.

Great decision by Robbie, hes far far too good a player for Sunderland.

I have no problem with the mysterious reporter.
He is very quick to anger, though.

He is, and while you expect most irish folk to enjoy the craic, I suppose not all do.

Look, I wasn't begging for the thread to be removed... just letting people know that Keane had said he wasn't willing to move. I don't feel I look silly at all. If anything, you're the one who is looking silly for dragging this out. All I'm trying to do is inform people what may or may not be happening. I thought that was why people visit these sort of sights. that's why they read newspapers. People like to discuss speculation, topics rumours and actual transfers etc - the idea of these sites is not simply to have a go at people on an individual basis.
Have you made any decent contributions to this site lately? I'm quite a newcomer here, I'm trying to be constructive. All you seem to want to be is destructive. What's the point in that?
Unfortunately, there's one kid in every playgroup that takes great delight in knocking down the achievements of others - you seem to have made that role your own.
Sure, I've set myself up as a target by letting people know what I do for a living (obviously the deadline has passed for today's paper or I wouldn't even lower myself to write this) but I've been big enough to do it.
If a story we get into the office is wrong I will hold my hands up and admit it. I'm not telling anyone to believe what I post. It's up to everyone to believe it if they want.
We did receive a report about Martin O'Neill's flight on Saturday afternoon. Thought you might be interested.
As it turned out this wasn't the case.
This Robbie Keane thing is completely different. With breaking stories things can change from minute to minute. If you fail to understand that not everything is black and white, then that's your problem.
And does anyone else carry a 'warning' on their posts - surely a name is enough. It is for you anyway...

By the way - I'm not quick to anger. I'm actually known for being far too laid back - hence I've been posting here quite regularly recently despite having deadlines to meet.
I just have a problem with people having cheap shots on a one to one basis without foundation - perhaps people who are ignorant of the nature of the job I do. That's all. ;)
No-one else has irked me so far...

What achievements would these be then? Getting Martin O'Neil's location on June 30 wrong by several thousand miles?
Being the third person on the cafe to post a Rio Ferdinand story?

Now give me your lunch money and we'll forget all about this.

Used my lunch money up for today I'm afraid - got a nice chicken burger from a country fried chicken place across the street from the office - with cheese and mayonnaise. Tasty.
And it wasn't ME that got Martin O'Neill's location wrong. He wasn't supposed to be in Japan! <img src="graemlins/smirk.gif" border="0" alt="[Smirk]" />
How 'bout we just wink at each other...
Here goes, deep breath.... ;)
