I like the heavy militarisation in Rise of Nations as well as the capability to advance to Modern and the Information Age. AoE captured the past a lot better than most RTS games and is always good fun. Age of Mythology was an excellent spin off too.

And in the process probably destroyed the world resulting into a defeat.
Personally I like using the Germans

Yeah I agree, stopped playing RON for about a year now, but before then, I was completely addicted. Very nice game.
