Rio Ferdinand will make his debut for Manchester United in Saturday's friendly against Bournemouth on Saturday.

Rio wasn't originally in the travelling party for the Dean Court game, but asked Sir Alex Ferguson whether he could play. He will join Juan Veron and Ryan Giggs in the match, and should play alongside Roy Carroll, Mikael Silvestre, Dwight Yorke, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and John O'Shea - who returns to the club at which he spent time on loan a couple of seasons ago. Rio is a RED!!!

Also, we will for the first time see the future Rio-O'Shea partnership.

Good news. It shows he is a true professional and he really want to blend with the new teammates as quickly as possible.

Couldn't he have asked to play against Chesterfield? At least thats live on MUTV ;)

Why or why was he sent on loan to Bournmouth of all teams six years ago! <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

well actually, entirely true that is not....he really only wants to play as it's essentially a testimonial for Mel Machlin who coached him during his time at Bournemouth....still, a nice gesture it is.......

The another 'nightmare scenario' would be to get knocked out of the ECL Qualifier.
