I don't think that would have prevented a thigh muscle from tearing.

He missed about 6 games for Leeds at the end of last season as well and missed the England V Italy friendly. Was worry he was not fit for the World Cup but he seemed Ok by then.

Defender need to be very consistent and injury free. It's start to become worrying for having two young but injury proned defenders in our team now. :(

I'm a bit annoyed though, cost us alot but didn't show much as of yet and is now out against Liverpool and Arsenal (the reason why we bought him is to excel especially in these vital matches), two games that could decide our fate in PL this year. Nice.

:(

I can't believe the injuries we've had this year.

Who mentioned Kevin Moran? What memories that brings back. He wasn't a pretty sight was he - toothless tiger - but I'd like him to be around now.

He's not really injured..its a stress thing..

He's having nightmares about Goater, he never knew quality like that existed...

I share the irritation...hasn't earned the money or the billing as yet. We live in hope.

A bit like JSV and Diego is he? And a bit like RVN this season?

£100m on underperformers. SAF must be proud of himself. I bet the plc-board just can't wait to hand him more cash to splash out.

TRM.

So now Van Nistelrooy is another failure? <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

look, we are having MAJOR inhury probs for the first time in ages, thats football guys!

Its obvious to everyone with 2 working corneas that this season SAF is concentrating,-rightly or wrongly-on the champs league, i seem to recall that Rio wasnt a Utd player when we played Deportivo away last season, which was THE best UTD Europeaon performance ive seen in all my years as a red..

(although Ronny J was still with us then....*)

I think its a bit OTT to say he's out of our game against the Arse, especially as all reports say he'll be back by December.
