Rio- his concerntration level??

I don't know if it's just me,but whenever I have watched Rio play(especially for England), he seems to have lapses in concerntration during various stages in games. That's the only weakness that I can see in his game at the moment,and many would agree lapses in concerntration is the LAST thing we need in our defence right now.
What do you think??

I don't know that it's lapses in concentration he just never seems that bothered when someone scores....if it's a one on one situation he always just seems to have been dragged back from out of position and watches the ball into the net. He gets very few yellow cards because he never tackles ina one on one situation and I have never seen him make last man saving tackles...headers off the line yes but not savig tackles. He's excellent at patrolling the backline and clearing anything dangerous though so he rarely needs to get in one on one situations but when he does his lack of aggression means he's often beaten.

So as said before excellent signing, great player but needs an aggressive CB to play with him and get stuck in.

As he's read the game so well up until then it does come as a shock so yeah, he can have lapses.

But it's not very often.
 
I can only hope that he can keep his fitness up ... He got age at his side - the concentration thing ... it's something I believe take a bit of years and high level experience to produce ... so Rio is making a very good career move for himself ...

What else to be worried of if you have all the manager trust by selving out a World record fees for defender ?? ... ;)

Barthez lacks concentration cos he is thinking about his fags.

Ferdinand cos he is thinking about the quality of pornography on the hotel tv on away trips. :eek:
