Leeds boss David O'Leary has refused to rule out a summer move to Manchester United for star defender Rio Ferdinand.
The 23-year-old Londoner, who performed impressively in England's 1-0 win over Argentina at the World Cup, has been linked with a £25m switch to Old Trafford.
"Good managers don't want to lose their best players and he is going to go on to be one of the great players"

And O'Leary, speaking on the BBC, said he may not be able to prevent him leaving.
"They had a chance to buy him a couple of years ago and they didn't really fancy him and that made my job easier," O'Leary said.
"I don't want to lose him. I'm trying to build a team here. But if you start getting offered £40m I think that will be put to the plc and not me.

A report last month in the Daily Express claimed that Ferdinand had already signed a Manchester United contract and that the deal would be confirmed after the World Cup.
Manchester United have refused to comment on what they call "speculation".
Boss Sir Alex Ferguson has said that he wants to rebuild the team's defence this summer after a season in which their weakness at the back seriously hampered their pursuit of silverware.

United have also been linked with moves for several other world-class defenders.
Juventus' France international Lilian Thuram, Argentina captain Roberto Ayala, who plays for Valencia, Italy's Alessandro Nesta and Kevin Hofland of PSV Eindhoven are among them.
Ferdinand moved to Elland Road from West Ham for £18m in November 2000.
He could reportedly earn around £60,000 per week at the start of the contract, which could increase to £110,000 if he sees out the deal.
Leeds need to offload some players, having spent £100m in the transfer market during the past four years, and O'Leary has been urged to sell four players this summer.
Olivier Dacourt is poised for a £16m switch to Lazio, while Lee Bowyer and Michael Duberry are also set to move.
Rumours persist that Manchester United will fund the deal for Ferdinand by selling Juan Sebastian Veron, for whom they paid a British record £28m last summer.
