I am a bloke... perhaps 'rub him up' was the wrong choice of phrase in hindsight. You see, over here (in NIreland) we often use 'rub him up the right way' as a phrase similar to 'getting him on side' or 'keeping him sweet'. I can see where you were misled. I'm married, you know. Two kids an all...
