"RIO FERDINAND is the world's most wanted defender.

Ferdinand, The Sun's man in England's World Cup camp, is being courted by all the big guns.

Manchester United were first off the mark in the chase for his signature before the tournament even started. Now AC Milan are in the frame - and any European club worth its salt would fancy him in the team."

So any player that has 2 clubs linked/rumored to them can lay claim to being the most wanted player in the world... also notice the bold part where this joke of a journalist is using an an ASSUMPTION of his own to support his statement..
Yeah... I'm sure every club worth its salt would fancy Totti, Nesta, RvN, Owen, Beckham, Zidane and so on too... feck take no notice of me, I just hate The Sun very much... can they get sued for constantly writing BS stories???

I wish they could get sued. Luckily Rio seems a leve headed person or otherwise Leeds would have a prima donna arriving back in Yorkshire.

The english press over hype people so much it is not funny.

As Rio said it was one game.

Two games now, and he's clearly been the best defender in the tournament so far. £40m is actually starting to look realistic considering how much Nesta is worth and their respective ages. I would be very happy to see him in our shirt next season, but I'm not sure what our board are prepared to pay to get a top defender. We'll see soon enough.
