"Right side Midfielder?"...

In the Ayala news on this web site, it mentioned that united need a central defender and a right midfielder. So i thought i should post a topic just for this.

I think we do need a right side midfielder cos if Becks gets injuried (like now) someone can go on and cover for him...instead of putting a central midfielder there. I'd like to see a young dutch guy there. :D (they never fail)
 
Steve Finann will dothe job nicely. He plays on that side for Ireland at the fron and back with equal effect! :D
 
I would agree with you Candona - the question is who? I got challenged when i mentioned Gallardo from monaco, i still believe, he would be great value as he can play anywhere along the midfield. But hey :rolleyes: who knows.
 
Actually, when I first heard about the "right side midfielder" the words 'Beckham', 'Contract', 'not', 'signed' and 'yet' came to mind...

But we really do need someone as backup, as it's obvious Chadwick hasn't got the manager's trust. We can't have a certain system when whenever Becks is out we end up dragging one of the central midfielders to the right and hope for the best.

that too...since we are going to sell Fortune, imo Steve Finnan would be nice (at least he has EPL experience) But the question is ... does he have the quality to play for a big club like Man Utd? can he do well in the CL if needed? personally i'd get him (and i have him for my CM team :p )

Andy van der meyde might be the ideal signing for us....he can play as a forward or as RM if needed + he is dutch. What about Dennis Rohmedal...he is danish but is also a good RM
 
Julius Aghahowa is the right man. Voted the second best right winger in the 99 under 21 World cup. Speed, size, Gule, lethal infront of goal plus a good dribler and incredible at link up play and off the ball running1 also, World Soccer magazine printed a list of the bestyoung players in the World and he came in Third, Miles ahead of Owen who was 15th! His clubs asking price s 16 m dollars. Plays for Shaktar Donestk who are willing to sale him after Mundial 2002. ;)

Actually, they're apparently willing to sell, but want about £12m min. Borough are interested, and he's said he wants to play in the Premiership.

He is the Perfect back up for Beckham, right back and is Englands anwser to Roy Keane. SAF shold get him if what you said is true!
 
What about this d'Alessandro bloke???
I thought he could play both wings, and that would be well useful with Fortune possibly leaving

I think Hargreaves is ideal, if we cant get him someone from Holland would also be a good idea...Dutch players never let you down.
