Mystic River. Modern Classic - can't go wrong.
Sleepers. 'A' Star cast and a very good story.
Eastern Promise. Fantastic performances and the Cronenberg touch.

Right, i have watched District 9 and The Green Mile, former was entertaining, latter was quite brilliant. Those ugly prawns in District 9 reminded me of the Predator thing.

Se7en is a must though. My favorite thriller of all time.

Seven's the only decent film on your list. As for Green Mile...Christ what an awful film.
Haunting in Connecticut was a good horror movie. It was one of the better horror movies I have seen in recent times.
Don't watch The Happening. I ll save you two hours of your life. It was not scary and it was pretty awful. Zooey Deschannel was the only good thing in that film.

I saw this one a few weeks ago. Agreed about the performances. It was nicely shot and despite there not being much else to it, I still really liked it for some strange reason.

I liked District 9. Green Mile is a woman's film. Valkyrie was very good for the first hour but then tailed off quite a lot.

I actually hated Se7en. I thought the whole movie was extremely dull and I saw the ending coming.
