Good to hear he knocked a goal in. Been hearing good things about him for the past year. More progress like this and we may have the new Giggsy on our hands. ;)

The lad is good imo. But tell me honestly. I heard on BBC lastnight also that Djordic was used as a striker at Bournemorth. Will this work? Djorci as our fourth forward

I got a first true glimple of Richardson last night, against Chesterfield, and was very impressed. The lad is wizard with the ball. Much like Chadwick, could do with some free lunch tickets to the Red Cafe, but definately one to watch for.

If we don't make a move for an experienced striker on the cheap a la Di Canio, then I'd be happy to see some of the youngsters take their chance in the lesser games.

Obviously Ruud and Ole are the number 1 choices with Forlan as back up/hole player but trying out Webber, Richardson, Djordic and Davis in carefully picked matches with at least one experienced forward alongside them would be a good way to show our commitment to the youth squad. It would also send a message to the youth players that there is a route through and would discourage others from following Healy, Notman and Mulryne's route away from OT.

My only worry is the lack of cover if injury were to strike Ruud or Ole although I am sure that if the situation called for it funds could be released to bring in a replacement at short notice, this may not be enough in Europe where we need to register the squad in advance.

But if Fergie thinks any of the kids are ready then the experience will do them good and we always have the option of pushing more experienced players forward such as Giggs, Scholes or Fortune if things are really tight.

Attacking options are not really a problem at United with goals coming from anywhere in the squad, hell we played last season with 2 strikers for our best part of the season as Cole had left in body, Yorke in spirit and Diego had not really arrived.

So Kemo, you tell me, living in Germany how is it that you have managed to follow Richardson's development? Is there something I should know because I couldn't even tell you how he plays. I've never seen him. And surely if you've managed to follow him you've been able to follow Djordic too and don't need anyone to advise you on his suitability for any given role?

I thought that Kemo was in Kampala?

Indeed I am in Kampala. It's just tha at least thrice over the lst few years I have watched a couple of soccer programmes about youth teams in europe. And the Ajax and Man United youth teams where in focus. Thats when I hot a look at Djordic, Flecther and more recently Richardson

I agree with your opinions except the part about buying on short notice. Emergency cover more often than not doesn't work with an immediate effect especially for a club like ours where the standards are set at an extremely high level and time is of the essence when the season is in full swing. Moreover, with the transfer window in effect and with other clubs' reluctance in parting with players (especially those involved in european competition), we would have very slim or no chances in landing a striker of sufficient calibre.

If we want to get a striker to round up our "striker quartet", either buy NOW or promote one of the youngsters to that role if they are good enough.
