Sideways move, wonder if Riise is moving elsewhere.
It's sideways, but it's a move to a nice part of London. That must factor. Fulham need a bit of cover, so it's a decent move.

Sideways? It's a little step up, I think, at least from an aesthetic point of view in footballing terms.
From the shithole that is sunderland to Fulham is a huge leap for mankind...also a step up in football terms too.

I reckon Sunderland will finish higher then Fulham by the end of the season, just putting it out there.
Apparently he has a kid who lives in London so he wants to be closer. In those circumstances it's hard to begrudge him the move.

It's good for him to change environment. Actually it's a good thing for all people to do once every while. New challange, new fans, new money. He had nothing going for him in Sunderland, so why not?
Fulham play better football. Also probably better to live in London.
Side-ways? It's a step up. From a shite midtable team to a good midtable team with potential to play in Europe.
Does moving from Sunderland to London really matter when you already have a comfortable life as a rich footballer ? I'd think he'd move to Fulham for footballing reasons and not lifestyle

i think your logic is backwards actually. BECAUSE he is a wealthy footballer, the differences between London and Sunderland are really magnified and it matters even more than for someone making 20k a year.
I don't like to pre-judge but I would bet my house that you have never been to Sunderland.

All I'm saying is that he didn't go to Fulham just for living in London alone.
I read he was trying to get a move to London specifically because of "family" issues, so maybe not just for the living but in the wider sense it is probably best for him.
His mum lives just over the road from me, he is always there, so it'll be a much shorter drive for him.
He's really quite crap. A nothing player.
