Pitch for tonights mufc reserve game being drained of water. 1st team groundsmen working on it now, should go ahead.

Johnstone, Vermijl, Fryers, Thorpe, M.Keane, De Laet, Cole, Tunnicliffe, W. Keane , Petrucci, James.

KO 7pm.

I always think it's a bit strange how rarely reserve games are used to give fringe first-teamers a chance to work on their match sharpness.

You'd think the likes of Cleverley, Park or Hernandez could really do with a 45 minutes run out tonight.

You're not dead?

What a world - you can't even rely on raw chicken.

"We're hearing there's a pitch inspection at 5pm for tonight's Reserves game with Wolves - we'll keep you posted"

Hoping Zeli Ismail (Wolves) plays tonight.

Impressed me in the 5-2 for the U18's this season and the 4-0 last season

Not much to report from the first 5 minutes. Scrappy stuff, no shots of note yet. Looks miserable out there!

Wolves look like a seriously 'ard bunch.

What a goal that would've been! Beautiful move started by a cracker of a ball from De Laet.

James should have just scored, great chance.

Just seeing the youth lads in the stands, does anybody know if the youth league changes to have both an u18's and u21's next season?

Again, would've been a lovely goal. Great play from Keane and Petrucci.

Cole scores.. 2-0
Cole ran with it, passed it to tunni who chipped it to keane. Rolled it across for Cole who tapped it in.

Great goal Cole assisted by Keane.

FT 2-0.. Wolves had a couple half-chances but nothing more.. Good performance again from the back 4 and Tunnicliffe..

You could say that!

297 of us went this evening, lowest crowd for United at Moss Lane in a long time but it's understandable given the conditions and the fact the reserve league is won already.

I never noticed before just how well Sam Johnstone controls his area, I was that close to him tonight I could hear everything and the boy makes Peter Schmeichel look calm at times. I thought he was going to try and murder our own back four at one point. Great reader of the game for a young man even when the ball's at the other end of the field.

One of the wettest, coldest and most miserable nights for a while but I strangely enjoyed the game. Good old fashioned physical mudbath of a match and lots of players going home looking like they've been dragged through a hedge backwards. Not the kind of flair or style this reserve team usually has but when Lingard isnt there and Petrucci is bogged down because all the play is clustered around the middle, what else could we expect.
