I get down to quite a lot of alty games I never go to see the ressies though! I'll have to start going a bit more often

Just generated our first chance, 20 mins in. Great flowing move freed up De Laet on the left, his cross volleyed over by Petrucci.

Nothing of note so far, other than Sunderland have a massive striker up front.

Maybe the wrong thread for this but is Fabio injured or does he just not get involved with the ressies anymore?

I don't think he's been part of the regular reserves team this season. Certainly not as much as 2 years ago.

I assume he's fit, just not being used by the 1st team at the moment.

I find it a tiny bit amazing that I can understand everything Paddy says now, compared to when I first heard him speak, with my Yank ears.

Fantastic shot by Tunnicliffe from well outside the box, saved very well at the near post by the goalkeeper at the last moment and just spinning around the post.

Another lovely shot by Tunnicliffe from just outside the box to the far post, saved again by the keeper and held this time.

We've had the ball most of the time, and they've defended deep, but had a few counter attacks come to nothing.

We've been playing a bit narrow and have had a hard time getting into the box.

There is a river out there for those interested.

Starting to step it up a bit now, good play by De Laet on the right but his goal is blocked.

Can't believe I forgot this was on, would've gone!

What a fecking goal that would've been by De Laet!

Had a look of Van Persie vs. Charlton a few years ago about it.

Edit: Shit..that was 5 years ago...how fast has that gone?

Zeki Fryers with a lovely cross from the center of the pitch to Brady on the left, cross blocked for a throw, now out for another corner. Taken short, across to De Laet who strikes it on the volley from the edge of the box and is saved at the far post.

The pressure has been especially intense by us over the last 10 minutes, we've had almost all of the ball and have been forward constantly.

De Laet with a free header in the box from the corner, probably should've done better but it was a bit far out.

This is very one sided now - Sunderland have been playing for the draw since about the 60th minute.

Not sure we're going to have the guile to get through the 10 man defense, to be honest.

Oh and if Fergie wanted a player with pure energy to close down the midfield against City, he'd of done better to play Tunnicliffe over Park. He is outrageously energetic.

Oh, and Sunderland's keeper is fantastic!

Sunderland having a very hard time getting the ball out of their half, but here's a rare chance with the ball for them. Down the right but cleared, down the right again and they lose it. United on the break, De Laet down the right wide open, into the box but the pass is deflected. Cole keeps it alive down the right, great cross into the box, I think De Laet, but Keane can't quite reach it.

Brady with a decent free kick, saved by the keeper to his bottom left.

Good free kick by Brady from a fair distance, over the wall and bounces right in front of the keeper at the near post, and he's able to smother it. Probably not going to score there but a pretty good technique.

Everyone playing hot potato in the middle of the field now, no one wants to hold it. Now Sunderland manage to keep the ball for a moment, happy to pass around the back. Forward to their big striker, they keep possession and get the ball into the right conrner, Wootton tackles off his man and out for a goal kick.

Nice quick attack from United and into the box for Lingard, but he's shoved off the ball.

A pretty decent job by United, it was nice to see Lingard, Tunnicliffe and Petrucci passing the ball with comfort in the middle of the park. Sunderland defended well, but I think we were unlucky not to score.
