United are away to Bolton Wanderers in tonight's cup game with Pogba expected to make his reserves debut in the starting lineup.

Pogba earns cup call-up

Sixteen-year-old Paul Pogba is expected to be handed his first start for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Reserves this evening as the Reds meet Bolton at the County Ground, Leyland.

The Frenchman, who signed from Le Havre in the summer, has scored three times at Under-18 level and will now hope to make his mark in the Manchester Senior Cup.

A confident, composed and skilful midfielder, Pogba’s most recent run-out came in the FA Youth Cup last Thursday where he sent United on the way to victory after just 57 seconds.

Pogba isn’t the only youngster travelling to Leyland this evening. In fact, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s 16-man squad includes 10 players who have turned out for United's U-18s this season.

The Reds will be captained by Norwegian midfielder Magnus Eikrem, while Solskjaer will rely on Sam Hewson, Ben Amos, Oliver Gill, Oliver Norwood and Cameron Stewart to bring Reserves experience to the table.

The match kicks off at 19:00 and will be screened live on MUTV.

United squad: Amos, Zieler; Tunnicliffe, McGinty, Wootton, Gill, Fornasier, Masacci; Pogba, Stewart, Hewson, Norwood, Eikrem (c), Petrucci; Ajose, Cofie

I think Fornasier, Masacci and Cofie are named in a reserves team for the first time too.

6 16 year olds! Dear tiny, infant Jesus, let there be a stream.

The only downside is that with Eikrem, Hewson and Norwood in the side, it means he is unlikely to get much game time.

Interesting squad, from that you can assume that Tosic, Welbeck and DeLaet are with the first team squad and maybe Matt James as well (unless he's picked up an injury too).

You can assume that all the reserves will start, but hard to guess the rest of the side. Bolton play very similarly to the first team so will be a real test for the younger players coping with the physicality and pace of the game.

We weren't referring to the Jesus part, Elliot...

Don't mind Flawless and I, our minds are obviously not savoury.

You fecking disgust me. Wouldn't be surprised if you went one further and interpreted the stream part as some sort of watersport reference, you filthy perv. Rumor has it Pete Townshend's got wicked photoshop skills. It all makes sense now.

There's a stream according to myp2p - it's a new one though, so not sure whether or not it really shows the game. We'll just have to wait and see.

A few minutes ago Norwegian Magnus (19) became the world's youngest ever top ranked chess player. Will he also become the youngest ever player to score five freekicks in one game in the MSC?
