Manchester United Reserves v Manchester City Reserves

Venue: Moss Lane, Altrincham
Date: Thursday, 4 February
Kick-off: 19:00

GAME NOW CALLED OFF DUE TO FROZEN PITCH

Ive been trying to arrange to see a reserve match next time in over. Proving very difficult to get all the variables in place!

My latest attempt was foiled when the fulham game was moved to the sunday. had 3 tickets aswell for once

I was under the impression you paid on the gate for reserves games? Do we need tickets?!

You don't need tickets, I assume he's referring to 3 tickets for Fulham ;)

I wouldn't be making any elaborate plans to get to Alty, with the snow and temperature the pitch might freeze and the game called off.

Ah yea that would make sense!

Yea I know, it started bloody snowing just after my mate text me back to confirm he was up for going, bloody shit snow!

Got to admit I hope it is snowed/frozen off - I'm away this week and it'd be the first home game I'd have missed in about a year.

@BenHibbs

Res v City: Foster Fabio Gray De Laet Dudgeon Obertan C.Evans Ando Possebon James Diouf.

Subs: Zieler Moffatt Norwood Stewart W.Keane

I'm sure I read the loan window opens again next week, so he'll probably go then.

That's a very strong side but Ben Hibbs has a habit of telling porkies. Good to see Possebon back again, surprised about Anderson's inclusion though

Just called the ground and it's "almost certainly being called off" but a referee is on his way down now to check it out. She said the pitch is white though :(

Demoted to the reserves for running home I guess. He doesn't really need the fitness as he's played a fair few in recent months.

If true, good to see William Keane on the bench for the Reserves again.

The official site has the same.

I sincerely hope they hold by all of these cancelled fixtures over the last 6 or so weeks.

Altricham confirmed match is called off.

However she said it might be moved to City, so I'm ringing United now to try and find out more.

Called United who told me it was still going ahead at Alti, nice one dickhead I just told you they've called it off.

Had to resort to calling City (I feel dirty) and they've confirmed it has been cancelled completely and a new date is yet to be arranged.

Bollocks.

They must be facing a serious fixture pile up at this stage?

Just had a look, it's not as bad as I thought, looks like the postponed games were all successfully rearranged into the remainder of the fixture list, with the exception of our away tie to Stockport in the Mancehster Senior Cup.

Thu 11 Feb – Burnley H
Thu 18 Feb – Everton H
Tue 23 Feb – Blackburn Rovers A
Thu 11 Mar – Manchester City H
Tue 23 Mar – Burnley A
Tue 30 Mar – Wigan Athletic A
Thu 8 Apr – Hull City H
Tued 13 Apr – Liverpool H

This still seems a tad short of fixtures

From his side:

Reserves match not definitely off. Pitch isn't in the best condition but not yet postponed apparently. Sorry for confusion #mufc

Tonight's Reserves match against Manchester City has been called off #mufc
about 1 hour ago from Tweetie

Today on Old Trafford says it is postponed.

Just called Altrincham, the guy said there had been some doubt but it has now been cancelled again!

It's bloody ridiculous. I said to the guy on the phone that I'd heard conflicting reports and could he confirm if the match was going ahead; he said "you think you're getting conflicting reports, you should try being here!"

Ben Hibbs has now accepted the inevitable:

@Ben Hibbs

Ok, what a palaver... Reserves match is now DEFINITELY OFF. No more changing my mind. That's it. It's off.
