11 years ago today

It's my mates birthday today; he went to that game on his birthday when he was 14. I doubt he'll ever have a better one

And Solskjaer has won it

"Can Manchester United score? They always score!"

"Can you fecking believe him!"
Alex Ferguson United Manager to his assistant Steve McClaren on seeing Schmeichel going up for the first stoppage time corner.

"Are you crazy?"
Gerhard Aigner UEFA General Secretary inside the stadium having just finished putting Bayern's ribbons on the trophy when an aide rushes in to tell him to put Manchester United's colours on it instead.

"I'm sorry."
Lennart Johansson UEFA President to Sir Bobby Charlton when passing him to make his way down to the pitch after 90 minutes

i can't comprehend even for one second what it must've felt like for a bayern fan at that moment, not that i care of course. The images of kufour stamping his foot and crying still bring me to near hysterics

football, bloody hell

The funniest part (and saddest for some others) for me was the substitution of Lotar Mattheus at the end of the match with Bayern winning 1-0. He got a standing ovation, great player, sipping some juice and watching united doing history...

Just watched the video on espn. I still get shivers.

Nothing will ever beat that season. It had everything and what a perfect way to finish!

You're only a young lad aren't you? If you haven't already seen it get the season review for 98/99. So many classic games that season

Can still remember like it were yesterday, oh were the days.

I was 16, and in the middle of my GCSE's (otherwise we'd have been in Barcelona that week!). We had decorated the house with United scarves and flags. Just before the 3 minutes stoppage was announced, my Dad put his hand on my shoulder and said it was all over. I said it wasn't, all we needed was one goal to take it to extra time.

Sheringham scored to make it 1-1, and we went wild. We had only sat back down on the sofa when Solskjaer scored to make it 2-1. We went crazy, we ran out into the street and were screaming.

Then it was all over.........football, bloody hell

The greatest season.

Even if we were to do it again I can't imagine it being surpassed in terms of emotion and drama, the way we won the final encapsulated the whole season.

If Giggs hadn't scuffed that shot our history could have been a lot different.

I remember when Sheringham scored my Dad smashed a glass by accident celebrating. He's a Spurs fan.

Then Ole gets the winner and I go mad, running around jumping on the sofas. Saw Ole slide on his knees and copied him, right on our carpet with my shorts on. So much carpet burn.

I seen it in 2000 I think, I'm going to try find it.

I was 10, stood in the doorway of the living room and while my brother and dad were jumping up and down cheering, I was just stood there completely stunned thinking, 'you just can't stop this team'.

 I'm only young too, but I used to watch that video pretty much every day when I was younger. Watched it last year and knew a lot of the commentary off by heart. Its on youtube in 13 parts if anyone wants to watch it. Think I may watch it again tomorrow...

Downloading it as we speak.

I was 6, my mam sent me to bed after we went 2-0 down at Juventus. I don't remember much of the final. I remember Basler's FK and me being absolutely gutted and I remember the winner and me taking my pyjama top off and waving it around my head like I was Giggs . Couldn't really appreciate the magnitude of what happened to be honest, in those days I didn't have pre-match nerves.

I have got the full ITV coverage for the final and the bus parade. It's a torrent, Is it ok to post a link?

Doubt it, but it's ok to pm. Hint, hint...

Yeah I think PM's would be okay ;) ;)

I have the season review and the full match on DVD. Watched it again last year, we were seriously lucky to only be one goal down.

You make your own luck though

Yeah I watched the full-match again a few years back, not worth a watch to be honest

I was 14.. I remember my dad turning it off at 1-0 and saying "oh well, thats it" he'd been waiting 30 years for the chance and it was such a frustrating game until that moment. It must have been something about that season because we turned it back on moments later... Sure enough you know the rest. What a ridiculous season that was. Has there been a more dramatic year for any supporter before that?

I was 12, sat in a dingy little room with my brothers. We were crestfallen, til injury time that is :)... One thing I do remember though, was I was almost disappointed it didnt go to extra time, that was my overriding emotion that night, strange though it was, I was happier when Sheringham scored, than I was when Ole did... Brilliant, brilliant night though :)

Started watching it, no matter how many times I hear ''And Solskjaer has one it'' I feel like crying, I always get shivers down my spine.
