It feels a bit boring this season. Unless the clubs above West Ham go on an absolutely disastrous run you'd say they're already safe. Like last season (Burnley and Sheffield United), there are two teams in the division (Leicester and Southampton) that are absolutely shite and the most unlikely of the promoted sides - Ipswich (Luton last season) look like they could perhaps stay up.

We have gone on a great run recently and look to be in a safe position but I won't be happy until we get two more wins. Think 35+ does it.

Cant see the bottom three changing unless City get the appropriate points deduction.

The third team to be relegated is either Wolves or Ipswich. The bottom two are nailed on.

Any MU fan talking of relegation battle is a drama queen.

Wouldn't be if we had six less points on the board

Sorry what does that even mean? If Ipswich had 6 points more they’d be above Wolves and if Liverpool had 6 points less they’d be only 2 points ahead of Arsenal having played a game more. And If we had 5 points more, not 6, we’d be have double Ipswich’s points.

We deserve to go down, teams in the form we're in never survive, we're just lucky the gap between teams coming up now is so big

Ipswich beat Spurs today then the next game against them is going to be important. We lose that and the momentum could be troubling. Would be a 6 point gap with no win in sight for us and Ipswich with some momentum.

If Ipswich get a win in their next couple of fixtures we are in trouble. I am not expecting any more wins from Man Utd this season.

Don’t you do a thread search before starting one?

Wolves would have to start winning as well for us to be in trouble. I actually expect them to pick up like Everton have. They should be doing much better.

Very lucky that the bottom 3 are so disgustingly bad. Wolves should have enough to avoid the drop.
Not getting to at least 20 points in 38 games should give you a diminished parachute payment.

We usually see a team towards the end of the season start picking up points. Would not be surprised if Wolves do.

It's difficult to see us winning anymore games this season. I wouldn't even fancy our chances against Southampton

We escape relegation with a win against Ipswich you would think but do we even look capable of that? Lose and we're in massive trouble.

Ipswich looks our most winnable match.

Where do we pick up 3 points after that? Even 1 point looks beyond this lot.

Arsenal (H)
Leicester (A)
Forest (A)
City (H)
Newcastle (A)

There is 4 almost guaranteed losses there.

Leicester is the only winnable one.

I asked the same question in the other thread. Cant see us winning anything in the league. The manager is not going to help changing the mood and will stick to this useless setup.

Maybe relegation is what we need, Ipswich will win at Old Trafford so it’s going to be more of a possibility. I think we’ll be fine in the end but the gap is going to close.

The club doesn't survive relegation.

No club who are already £1,000,000,000+ in debt survives relegation. We will fold.

Man United would return of course but it would be a Rangers Sevco situation.

Of course we wouldn’t fold, if financial situation got anywhere near that bleak it would be sold, same as what happened at Liverpool.

It's not just the debt, we would in all probability breach so many FFP and PSR rules we'd be fortunate to maintain our place in the Championship I expect. We're already on a knife edge with it seemingly.

We’d be fine because new owners would have to put money in, it’d be hard work but there’s no way the club folds.

We need a spurs win today. Us to beat Ipswich Wednesday and we’ll be fine

You can't get around much of PSR etc by the owner just ploughing money in, certainly not in the timescales that would be involved. SCR for example is calculated based on the clubs revenue, you put us in the championship you nuke the broadcast etc revenue and we either sell half the squad or breach it as only 85% of revenue can be spent on football costs and our revenue would see a huge dip and we're only just complying as it is. PSR, again the owner can't just throw money at quickly and we're already making hefty loses, again there are ways you can massage it potentially with new owners, but again it's the timescales and the violence of the hit being relegated brings. I can't recall what still applies in your first season out of the top flight.. But either way this is end of days stuff, it's not "a bit of hard work." Relegation should be seen for what it would be, catastrophic, not a fun refresh.

End of days stuff is massively over the top, it would require huge change in how the club is run but idea club folds is nonsense.

The promoted sides are now 5 adrift. The gap is just getting too much for the promoted sides

Title race over and relegation over. Just end the season now.

It does feel like it. I don't have much hope for those coming up either. Leeds could do it but Sheffield United were terrible last season and the playoff teams aren't very inspiring either in terms of staying up.

Top 4/5 race will be interesting with so many teams in it.

Relegation battle looks over now after Wolves won and their next 4/5 games could be the ones where they win plenty of points to move away from the danger zone (and possibly go above us).

Still, Ipswich go to Old Trafford in couple of days and given our home form that's anything but easy points. Have to make sure we don't complicate our situation which is fine atm being 13 points above those teams.

Will be shame seeing both McKenna and Ruud going down (as it looks now) as I thought at least one will survive.
