Dutch international defender Michael Reiziger is reported to be on the verge of signing for Manchester United.
The 28-year-old, currently at Barcelona is quoted in the News of the World as saying the deal wil be completed "in the next few weeks."
"I have played for Ajax, AC Milan and Barcelona, three of the greatest clubs in Europe," he said.
"But now I'm going to the greatest club in the world, Manchester United. It's a matter of time."
Barcelona are said to want £6m for the right-back but Man Utd have so far only offered £5m.
"Barcelona will co-operate because they understand my problem," Reiziger said.
"It will all be okay in a few weeks and I'm sure that I will be playing next year with Ruud van Nistelrooy and I'm really looking forward to that."
The Dutchman is being kept out of the Barcelona side by Spanish international Carles Puyol.
Now why would Reiziger come out and declare that the deal will be wrapped up within the next few weeks - seems like this story has more than a germ of truth in it than the usual rumour.
And it would certainly make the Reiziger doubters skip a hearbeat
