I think Fergie will ask Giggs to play as striker if we got injuries (with RVN or Ole or Forlan). So we can still play players like Fortune and Chadwick (time for youth gentlemen).

Scholes played left last season and he might as well do it again against lesser sides. In that way, Butt will get more games....We can even give 1st team chance to the likes of Bojan Djorkic and Darren Fletcher instead of buying. Remember the season when we wern`t supposed to win anything with Kids???

I am sure that Disco will go before the season but
I think we will be fine.I still got a feeling that we will see a striker (since Italians are struggling) and can`t see us turning down a nice bargain.

In case of emergency, we can use our FINANCIAL POWERS to get someone in any time. So I`m gonna chill and enjoy the season.

What do you think???

We should avoid having Giggsy or Scholes up front at all costs. The Scholes experiement failed particularly badly, and Paul made his dissatisfaction of being played as a striker well know.

This is nothing to do with Paul Scholes, Fergie know not to play Paul upfront now, and when he played Giggs upfront with RVN we played well v the likes of Deportivo and Fulham. and Giggs played further up the field then scholes did.

The lad has a great point, we need to bring threw the likes of Chadwick and Djorjic and what better way to do this then play Giggsy upfront when two of our strikers are out, We need to hide away the thrill of another signing and look to youth.

Obviously the youth of Djordjic and Chadwick aren't good enough otherwise they would have featured more last season.

Fortune is not youth, he is 25 years old. He is not going to challenge for left wing until Giggs is too old.

I keep saying, Yorke + Fortune + 7m = Duff, problem solved with one hell of a lot more flexibility too.

I'm banging my head against a brick wall here! <img src="graemlins/annoyed.gif" border="0" alt="[Annoyed]" />

Chadwick was injured for the majority if not all of last season.

Djordic - never gonna displace a fit Giggs.

Duff wont either.

If we had Duff, then we wouldn't need a bloody 4th striker. You only want one of them if two get injured, and as I've said, if RVN gets injured then we could have 10 of them but we would still be worried. What is needed is a forward player that can play that role when required, or let Giggs play that role when required, and also back Giggs up when he has one of his strains and also play on the right to mix things up!

Far better! :)

im not disagreeing with you on this.

Id be happy to see Duff at United.

But I wouldnt play him instead of a fit Giggs or Ole.

Or another choice, Yorke + Fortune = R.Keane. We may even get some changes back! ;)

Rivaldo is what we need. But I think developing Djordic and Forlan into Sheringham/Henry typed would be an interesting option.
