Manchester United youth coach Paul McGuiness says there are similarities between Reece Brown and older brother Wes.

Reece Brown, a defender like Wes, is away with England for the U19 European Championships in France.

“Reece will obviously forever be saddled with the tag of being Wes’ younger brother,” McGuiness said.

“When people see Reece, they see a striking resemblance, both in terms of looks and style of play. He has the same sort of attributes. He’s good in the air, quick and he’s a big lad.

“Reece has been at the club since a very young age, but the start he has made to his professional career has been really good. He has concentrated right from the start, which is a feature we really wanted him to look at.”

Yeah, good 18 months old or so, taken from his profile on the official site.

he played for fletcher moss when he was a lad used to hang around with my lad and his mates - got to say he has had a massive leg up , he was no where near as good as some of the other players who went on to other pro clubs

I'd never even heard of him until yesterday.

I take it he's a defender too then? Is he at the current U19's in France? How old is he? Is he orange?

I thought he played quite well against the Swiss the other day and he was very similar to Wes to be honest. He is very powerful and works the flank well, had good positional sense and was strong in the tackle.

According to BBC he has signed for Coventry on a season long loan

Any one know what his chances of making it are? Still young. A good year of regular football will do him a world of good.
Havent seen too much of him though.

No, he'll have been recalled because he wasn't getting enough game time.

Back to u21s level for the rest of the season, hopefully with Wootton and Tom Thorpe going out on loan.

He played regularly for Oldham last season, tbf. Coventry changed manager when he was getting game time and Marc Robins didn't give him game time after he picked up a injury and came back.

Depends on what Ipswich have competing with him, tbf but they should probably go for Thorpe instead. I guess he will be a bigger risk though not having played any competitive game.
