Okay, so here it is! The RedCafe FIFA 11 tournament!

Rules
  • 4 star teams or lower only.
  • Both players will have to confirm the score. If not, a pic will do - I'm not having any cheating!
  • 7 minutes per half.
  • You pick one team and you stick with it, no matter how shit your choice was.
  • Everyone must be a different team.
  • If you do not play the game in the alloted time period, the player who tried hardest to get the game going with be awarded a 3-0 win. My decision is final.
  • Use which controls you feel comfortable with. No restrictions.
  • League games will only be 90 minutes long. No extra time, no penalties. If it's 0-0, it's 0-0.
  • Each game week will be 4 days long. All matches will have to be played within the 4 days.
  • Cup games will go all the way to penalties if there's no winner. There will be no replays.
  • Cup games will have 2 game weeks to be played. (8 days)
  • Cup final will be 10 minutes per half.

It's usually a rule in those tournaments, I think 4 star is the maximum that should be allowed and you should be able to switch teams during the competition as well (not when it's two-legged ties but what Elvis did in the other tournament with one game but 7 minute halves is reasonable, I'd even say it should be 8 minutes).
 
i've always found 6 minute halves to be more than long enough. Dunno about switching teams, you should pick one and stick with it I reckon. Just my opinion....
 
No 5* teams will be a must. I'm not being bloody Blackpool or someone for some twat to pick Madrid or Barca. I've had enough of that wank online.

I think 6 minutes is enough, but depends what everyone else thinks is best. Same as changing teams...i'm not fussed, but if others think you should stick - we could do that.
 
Please will the OP mak some sort of table in the OP with the rules, players and gamertags so we can start to get this show on the road, rather than just letting it slip out as some sort of pipe dream...

What's the deal with controls?

I use full manual with semi assisted shooting, is it just 'use what you please'?
 
Yeah, just make it 'use what you please'. Shouldn't be an issue though, using fully assisted isn't even really an advantage anymore like it was in FIFA 10. Can't ping pong it about between two players into the net like you could.
 
How about having it restricted to 8 players and have a league plus a cup knock out?

Someone can do the draw for the cup on here and post the fixtures - do it before the league starts so no one knows how good the other player is etc.

I think we should definitely pick 1 team and stick with it. Seems daft changing them all the time.
 
That's not a bad idea actually. Only thing is, with a league, how will we work who plays when or who?

Or would it be more of a "play whoever you can when you can, as long as you end up playing everyone twice."

I don't think there's more than 8 xbox fifa players anyway. So that shouldn't be a problem. Could always extend it to 10 if need be.
 
Where (a), (b) and (c) are teams, how about as follows?

and so forth. Every game should be played by a certain hour of a certain day, maybe giving everyone say at least 5 days to play it. And each 5 days a new game week is played. If one of the teams in unable to play at any said time the other play takes 3 points. I'm sure people can PM each other a convienient time to play 1 game over a period of say 5/7 days.
 
Ah okay, gotcha. I've got a plan of what to do so just need to get the contestants in.

Then do a cup comp, which is a piece of piss.

League. Pick one team and stick with it, no more than 4 stars. Will update rules.
 
Either one or three more people to get this going. And please don't agree to participate if you're not going to bother playing most games.

What's the deal for people that use Live Season. I don't FWIW but curious if anyone else does.

I'm taking West Ham

EDIT: Does it have to be 4 star or can it be less?
 
Oh I don't know, not thought about Live Season. Does anyone use it?

And it can be less than 4, could be one of the Korean 1/2 star teams if you wanted if you feel you like playing with them.
