FAQ:
What is this? It's a new competition. Think of the Gold Cup as the League Cup, and this as the FA Cup. Or the Gold Cup as Wimbledon, and this as the French Open.

How does it work? It uses the same format as the Gold Cup (Groups of 4 players), but players come in at difference stages depending if they are a new player, or how they did in the Gold Cup

Why do I want to play in the Europa League of Rocket League. This is Rubbish! It's not the Europa League, more like Champions League mk2. You'll still be playing against Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich (or Slops, Shamwow and Mazher), but you'll have to qualify first!

Why are you doing this rather than starting again? This way both competitions can run in parallel, although I should have maybe made this thread last week as the Gold Cup is nearly finished! (Two Games Left)

I'm in the Gold Cup, but I don't want to play in this! That's fine, no problem! Although, let me know so I can work out the numbers better (no problem if you don't, it just helps)

I know I've qualified for this on the basis of the Gold Cup, but I'll just say that I want to enter this tournament as well when it gets ready.

Each "round" is three 2v2 matches played in a single night.

So if, me, you, MUM and Moses were in the same group it might go:
Me + You vs MUM + Moses
Me + MUM vs You + Moses
Me + Moses vs You + MUM

Top 2 go through, plus the best third placed teams as numbers require. Even if you lose the first two matches 10-0, you can go through by winning the 3rd match 11-0 (you end up in 2nd place, with 2 TGD better the other two)

Scheduling works that, I draw the players together, and then the 4 players are given a week or so to find a night to play the 3 games. If players start taking too long, I add a 5th player in and then it's up to 4 of them to find a time to play.

It can be difficult with people from other continents, so being a bit flexible helps. I'd say most matches have taken place on weekdays around 9pm to midnight UK time. We haven't had any unresolvable problems so far.

Cool and how long does the tournament typically go on for? The Mrs goes on holiday for a week with her mum and my lil one so im a man of leisure next week!

Theoretically, we can get this done within the weekend/1 week, but people would rather schedule their own matches than follow a schedule. Given how long this one went for, we can realistically expect it to go for 2-3 weeks if @rcoobc doesn't enforce a schedule.
 
So, @Shamwow is tentatively in this tournament to confirm, and I think someone else is also interested in joining, but I'm not sure who that person is.

How many people are confirmed to be participating in this tournament, though?

I've just been a bit busy recently... had a weeding to go do and hell at work. so will sort it all out this week

I meant to organise early this week to a view to starting this week / next week.

Whilst the top 6 are waiting for everyone to catch up, they are welcome to take part in the Redcafe 3v3 Gold Cup Super League

Sorry, have had absolutely no time to chase people up or anything... but tomorrow I will finish this tournament and send out info god damnit.

Could be interesting having this and FIFA on at the same time :lol:
