If you do vote in the next general election, which party will you vote for – Conservative, Labour, Liberal Democrat, Greens, BNP or some other loons, and why?

Why have you given BNP as an option above Greens, UKIP or SNP?

Plaid and the SNP should probably be in there. And the Northern Ireland parties too? How many entries does it allow for?

No idea Mike. Rush job.

Is it worth an edit?

Dunno. Just seemed kind of arbitrary and weird given that you've included a party with no MPs above several parties that already have MPs.

Labour, 'cos I can't stand Cameron and co. and Lib Dems have no chance, otherwise I'd vote for them.

Best of a bad bunch, basically.

Hahaha, Sultan you can't group the Northern Irish parties together anymore than you can group the English parties together! Delete and start again.

Labour
Conservative
Liberal Democrats
SNP
Plaid Cymru
Green
UKIP
BNP
DUP
Sinn Fein
UUP
SDLP
Independent/Other

Here's a list of the parties standing in this election that won seats in 2005.

Labour Party
Conservative Party
Liberal Democrats
Scottish National Party
Plaid Cymru
Democratic Unionist Party
Sinn Féin
Social Democratic and Labour Party
Ulster Conservatives and Unionists

UKIP, Green and the BNP are the other 3 notable parties, but that's probably a bit much.

Maybe Labour, Conservative, Liberal Democrats, BNP, UKIP, Greens and then one option for the Wales/Sco/NI parties would be best? And an option for other?

I think it's clear that the UK has far too many parties!

Remember Thatcher. Vote Labour.

'I Remember Thatcher' by Lizzie McHale

I remember Thatcher
Oh how we laughed
As the cost of living got higher
And the minimum wage was halved

Oh I remember Thatcher
She did away with fair rents
and landlords got richer and richer
Off the back of their tenants

Oh I remember Thatcher
She sunk the Belgrano you know
And distracted the impoverished masses
With paparazzi empowered jingo

Oh I remember Thatcher
She lived up Reagan’s arse
And whatever the US senate agreed
Dutifully came to pass

Oh I remember Thatcher
She cut public spending by half
And all the mental health care patients
Went to live rough in the local park

Oh I remember Thatcher
The day gran came to live with us
Because the money for her care home
Had gone to the rich in tax cuts

Oh I remember Thatcher
She relocated the miners
From a career in a well resourced industry
To cleaning in fast food diners

Oh I remember Thatcher
The day the unions were crushed
And the right to a permanent contract
Forever bit the dust

Oh I remember Thatcher
She privatised it all
so in search of cheaper labour
Our jobs got moved off shore

Oh I remember Thatcher
The poll tax was a riot
I stayed and watched in Trafalgar square
The thousands who wouldn't buy it

Don’t fall for soft soap Tory Speak
Me me me has always been their creed
Their rich will always get richer
Off the back of our most in need
7 % of the human race own 84% of the wealth
so get on up and use your vote
Don’t leave it on the shelf
Don’t leave it sitting on the shelf
Dont be the one left on the shelf

Don't give in to Greed.

Hmm. I could've sworn Labour had 3 votes a minute ago.

It's rigged!

I say we delete the thread and get someone competent to start the poll. ;)

Labour

Yeah, I'd go with that. And wouldn't it be better off in the General Election thread? Otherwise we'll probably see two discussions takings place on the election.

Me, Labour and the Lib Dems are running neck and neck at the moment.

I'd be a powerbroker in a hung parliament... a phrase which always makes me think of a gay porno mag for politics enthusiasts.

Forget that, it looks like you're the next PM. Please knight Ryan Giggs on your first day in office.

This poll would be interesting if started again with a proper list and without the Plech option. I say new thread. Change. And hope.

I do think it'll be better off placed in the General Election thread.

I voted for Plech because he would be a great leader and protect my interests! If I were a British subject.

Now you've put the BNP in there twice? You're obsessed Sultan.

I see why the mods don't let us have polls, even they can't use them right.

Greens are still on the list twice, and you have an option for 'Northern Ireland Political Parties' despite having broken them out separately.

I voted for Plech, how can you not like a Communist Nazi and Alien all in one. Dare I say he could become leader of the free world
