Roy Keane has never been far from the front and back pages during these last few months and with his appeal against two FA charges approaching, he is set to continue dominating discussions among fans, journalists and pundits alike for some time yet. So will United's controversial skipper be successful in his appeal as he stares down the barrel of a lengthy suspension? Mark Bain tries to unravel the latest twist in the Roy Keane saga...

Errr, not really tbh, sorry, maybe for 4.6 minutes of every week..... <img src="graemlins/smirk.gif" border="0" alt="[Smirk]" />

Now go read the article and stop posting unrelated stuff in here!! ;)

Just have finished reading it, another good one from him - I wonder how far Keane will take it, all the way to the High Court? Can't see that being good for the club, even if its good for Keano - which I question too.

BTW Did you see my FAO Admin thread in the Gen Forum?

Excellent article Mark.

I am not sure how well RK will come out of all this...I believe he has brought the game into disrepute by his very own words. To try to hide behind his words being Dunphys is a bit shallow - it was RK's autobiography not ED's biography on Keane.

He would have a final say so on what was in the book and must live by the consequences of what was published.

It is a shame that RK has this other side to him...but maybe that is the price one has to pay for having one of the best players in the world in your team.

Nice article! Nearly as good as mine! ;)

The whole Freedome of Speach thing will be important. I honestly can't see how they can make a case against him. But, then again, he did write in a book what he was intending to do...so....

 I don't know!

I don't think it is another side of him, it is him....a battler...as the song goes.........

"For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught.
To say the things he truly feels;
And not the words of one who kneels.
The record shows I took the blows -"

Just read the article! Very good analysis of the keano legal saga. The way i see it, if FA is brave enough, and not to be influenced by the media, they will let Keane go! I'd imagined in the first place, they charged him only under the ABU press pressure and if there is a legal defence advanced for keane, FA can legitimately freed keane.

The question here is: has FA the courage and be brave enough to stand against pressure?! The defence of 'freedom of speech' is crucial here. It appears that the Criminal QC retained by FA is hardly an 'expert' in the relevant argument though. Here's hoping that Keano has more than just Micheal Kennedy as his counsel.

i am reposting here below what i post in another thread which is somewhat relevant in here. Sorry if you are reading it twice. :)

with benefit of hindsight, yes, he shouldnt have. BUT the big question is, it is the ABU media which is trying to portray him as a monster, and he is definately NOT. He's not a dirty player, compare to a lot in Arse and many others. It is only because he is Roy Keane and an Utd player which attracts so much controversy and ABU wants the worst to happen to him and Utd. you know!!!

He's only a great player who wished to tell the world what he thinks and about his life, and has not considered the political correctness aspect. It's not fair to him when he is now tried by the public.... much like the case in King Eric when everybody (ABU) is calling for his head. Keane has aleady been punished for the foul and served his ban. Speaking about it in a book should recieve no more punishment as it only means you cant be honest! REvenge on the football pitch is hardly a rarity it is just his being honest about it and coming out with the clarity of it that is now hurting him! That's not justice!

There are many hypocrites out there, and KEano is certainly not one!! he's a hardman on the pitch, but hardly play dirty unlike many!!

I enjoy the book a lot and recommend to anyone!!

He`s a class player and MANCHESTER UNITED are undoubtably alot better with him on the feild. The Premiership is gettin too soft, and need more players like him!

If all our players had the determination and professionalism of RK we'd romp away with everything instead of looking up at the Arse. I just wish everyone would lay off him.
