Its that time of the year again and with Weaste busy with "teaching" English to poor Spanish beauties, I've taken the initiative.

There will be one chance to vote for an overall winner across all platforms, and that is simply overall game of the year. The rest of the categories for the overall winners, I will extrapolate from how many people voted for each platform, which will give some idea of the relative sizes of the userbases of each platform. If you have not played a game in a particular category/genre, please leave it blank.

Please use bold for you votes, and only one game per category. Copy the category list for each platform you want to vote for, and label the list with the name of the platform.

Can't be arsed to fill all that, as I barely played two games this year: Civ V and Fallout 3: New Vegas.

Civ V is very good, but Fallout 3: New Vegas is excellent. Lets say I vote to have it the best game of the year.

Over Hyped Game of the Year: umm, probably Black Ops - sure its good but not that good, its sales numbers are just staggering.

*as we didnt get the euro release of Demon Souls until this year i think it should be considered for the awards, however if its deemed a 2009 release i've given alternatives
 
If Demon's Souls is permitted then I am changing some of my choices.

Like it so much because its just so incredibly massive and stupid that its fun. I also think that in the time where video games are being shortened its nice to have one that you cannot physically finished under 50+ hours. The only thing I think it lacks is submarines and a big feck off ship you can drive.

These and Limbo are basically all i've played on the 360 this year. I didn't think Alan Wake's graphics were all that fantastic (i had just played Heavy Rain), i think that shows the main difference between the consoles when you stack up the exclusives side by side.

Mass Effect 2 is basically the best game....
