For those cafites that still, you know, occasionally actually play football….

I need some new boots. And seeing as it’s Christmas and I’m emptying my back account on everyone else, I thought I’d fork out on a new pair.

Pretty much exclusively for artificial surfaces. Have you bought a pair in recent years you’d recommend?

you can never go wrong with kaiser boots.

should have seen all the pussy hitler got in his.

What would you normally wear & do you prefer to have narrow or wide fitting boot?

I’ve bought some now mate, thanks…..after zero replies I thought, feck it, no one here actually plays any football and just picked some

Ended up with some Nike Academy Artifical Grass boots for what it’s worth

and that’s the thanks i get for the excellent recommendation of kaiser boots.

and it’s clear by the batshit opinions on here that none of them have stepped foot on a pitch and played the actual game before.

Don’t get me wrong, my footballing prowess doesn’t qualify my opinions….Im fecking awful. I just though that a casual interest in the game might include actually playing it in real life

Probably not far from the truth.

I was going to suggest Mizuno, it's really all about the sole plate for artificial grass, FG/hard ground boots are ok, but they're more likely to randomly get stuck in the fibres and unexpectedly trip you up.

I've always found Nike to be pretty good, but I've moved to mizuno the last few years. Incredibly comfortable.

I've been playing with Adidas Team Mundial for the last couple of years(on artificial turf). I am quite happy with them. To me they feel a tad better than the Kaiser5 that I used before.

The new Predator Elite turf shoes are spectacular

I pay up for the high end version of boots (at the very least the "2nd tier" if not the "elite tier", it's worth it for me both longevity wise and quality wise.

Always used to be a Nike guy, but my latest firm ground boots I got Mercurials in summer 2023 and they were just overly stiff and tight, even after soaking them in hot water to mold them to my feet. It helped but maybe cause I'm 30 now that I can't put up with overly tight boots anymore. So I got the Predators with the fold over tongue, and I've loved those. But those are all for firm ground. The AG version of boots is generally pretty similar from what I hear. My turf boots that I use are from 2015 or 2016, Nike Mercurial Proximo's that I adore but I don't think they make them like those anymore.

Heard good things about the Skechers SKX that Kane wears, but I just can't bring myself to wear Skechers football boots.

Other than that, Nike Tiempo's and Adidas Copa Mondials are timeless classics that always are loved. Unisports on YouTube does pretty comprehensive reviews of all boots.
