Saw this movie last night. Spanish language horror film. With Zombies. Shot on a hand-held camera. I thought I'd mention it because might fly under the radar unless you're a major film fan.

Absolutely the scariest movie I've ever seen in my life. Truly brilliant, and I thoroughly recommend.

Mate went to go watch this the other night. Said it was the scariest movie he's ever seen his life.

Might watch it next week.

Sounds interesting.
To what your appetite, this is the plot synopsis on IMDB:

While covering the night shift at a small-town fire department, an ambitious young television reporter (Manuela Velasco) and her cameraman follow the crew on a call to rescue an elderly woman unable to escape the inferno that is consuming her home. Upon their arrival at the scene, the calm midnight air is pierced by the sound of horrific screams, and the television report takes an unexpectedly dark turn.

You'll have to trust me. It was superb.

Sounds good, it's just a shame i can't get into films with subtitles (assuming this is.)

Watched it last night. Very very good and intense.

IMDb says "smalltown fire-department"... it said Barcelona on their jackets.

P.S. don't ruin it by watching a 470 mb file... isn't that a little small? even if the flick is only 1h 15m?

is the complete movie on VeohTv or are there some parts missing??
Not watched it yet so can't vouch that there isn't a gaping hole in the middle but it does seem to run from the opening filmax credit to the start of the end credits which are clipped just as the end music starts.

The official site lists the film as being 85 minutes long while the file from Veoh comes in at only 71 minutes which seems strange but if the start and end credits are cropped then there may only be a few minutes discrepancy which could be accounted for by differing frame rates between cinema and video which I believe could knock around 10 minutes out of an 85 minute film if it were converted to NTSC.

I'll most likely watch the film next week when I'm stuck in a hotel in India so I'll verify whether there's a gaping plot hole then.

The chances of it making the cinema in Singapore are not great, the chances of me actually being in town and finding out when and where it's single screening at an arthouse cinema will happen are around zero.

The quality's not too bad from the snippet I just watched, even at full screen. How much fidelity do you actually need for a film shot in shaky cam and night vision though?

The Veoh link has the full movie although the subtitles are really bad. Not sure what to make of the movie. Was expecting more after reading all the praise from you guys.

I blame you, Shotgun.

Quite a predictable movie IMO. The only reason it might be a bit jumpy is that there's a quiet before the storm, but you can tell when it's about to come. Wasn't scary, just unusual.

Watched it this aft.

As zombie movies go it was alright, nout special though, and definitely not "the scariest movie I've ever seen" as some are professing.

7/10

Edit: Didn't jump once, the supposed jumpy bits could be seen coming a mile off.

I really liked it. I've seen a lot of zombie films in the last few months and I thought this was easily the best. The camerawork, the acting and the tension was what did it for me. I never claimed it was the scariest movie I've ever seen, but there're are very rarely any new ideas in this genre nowadays. Rec managed to get everything else spot on though.

I went into this not knowing whether Rec was a drama or a comedy. The problem is that if you watch it expecting to be scared, it's not likely to happen.
