I see that Rebrov is probably going to be available on a free in January. IMO decent player, crap team.
Is he worth a gamble as a cheap(ish)fix to the striker problem?

Crap players don't score 101 goals in 135 appearances for Kiev, and even in a shite side like Spurs, 16 in 48 (27 of those as sub)
I think he MAY do OK, given the chance.

As I pointed out, 16 goals. A goal every 3 games, including the sub appearances. IMO not bad for a player who got off to a poor start, but has hardly had a game since. It's clear Hoddle does't fancy him, but then again, wasn't he tha one who reckoned Owen wasn't a natural finisher! Obviously not a bad judge of a striker!

If the price is nice and cut down I think he'd be a very useful recruit. The boy was class before he joined Spurs.

Lets face it, Ronaldo would look sh*t in a Spurs shirt.

He's got pace and (when his confidence returns) a great eye for goal (though I'd prefer a 'foot' for goal of course ;) )

Snap him up I say.

The only snag might be wages (£30k), mind you, it's got to be negotiable, if the alternative is returning to Russia, where half the pay seems to be in lard, and the other half is you don't get shot if you take the lard!

Remember him from the CL days when he was scoring for fun with Andrei Shevchenko.

Never understood his poor performance in the PL.

Crap side, Crap manager. Couldn't see a striker in a box of matches.

... unless the striker is genuine Spurs material like Morientes and Rivaldo

While I find his performances in the CL more relevant than those in the PL. He's a very good player whose confidence evaporated at Spurs, no wonder eh? He needs a fresh start: in a different league at a club more suited to his abilities.

Agreed, always thought he was worth a gamble. Fergie's built his career on taking other team's problems and turning them into stars, and on a free, Rebrov looks good value.

I'd rather a gamble on Rebrov than waiting forever for Forlorn to deliver, to be honest. I'm starting to lose a bit of faith in the lad...

every transfer topic should be made redundant by the simple fact that we didn't sign litmanen when we had the chance. or not redundant, what is the word... "cocaine," that's the one i'm thinking of

I have mentioned abt him before the start of season ... together with the likes of Flo ..etc who I can see, having a good chance leaving their team then ...

I think the only probable problem with Rebrov should be his price tag ... WHL paid 11mil for him so I wouldn't think they will sell him cheap ... especially if Man Utd is the one knocking on the door ... If not becaure of his original value - and his current situation with Hoddle ... I think any business around 3mil and Hoddle will say "GOOD DEAL, there you get out of that door Sergei!!" ...

Have to wait and see ... I think he will do well for us ... He has great play-linking sense ... even back in Kiev's day, I think he play a bit deeper while allowing Shvchenko to roam up front ...

Iv always thought Rebrov had talent, i def think if he is on the cheap then why not pick him up, could be just the man to start a genuine title tilt, would have pref Litmanen though.

I think he will do well in Man Utd ... frankly ... He is just not being given enough chance to proof himself in WHL IMO ... his talent is undoubtedly there.... ;) </strong><hr></blockquote>
He's a spurs reject that every spurs fan I know thinks is shit, because he has been unadulterated rubbish since he joined them. I don't care what he did before he came into the Premier League, he's useless in it. I've yet to see any even half plausible link with him either, he was certainly not a candidate over the summer.
